Title: terms to describe
Post by PINKY BABY on Jun 12th, 2003, 4:56pm
think about something for a minute.  here on the cluster board, we have our own language, and with close friends and family, they understand most of the words that we use.  if i tell my  husband that i have to go in the other room and pay the fiddler, he knows i am going to have a solo dance.

anyway, i was having lunch  with a new found friend (known her for about 2  months), and i knew better, (i was tired of the beast controlling my social life) but i had a long island icetea.  i had been getting a lot of shadows, and i knew that i was going into a cycle.  i hoped i was not far enough into the beggining of the cycle, that the drink would not matter.  i was wrong.
i hate getting hit in public, and especially in front of someone that knew nothing (in detail anyway) of my problem, other than i had bad headaches.with in about 15 minutes my eye went to an instant droop, my pupil  contracted,   and my eye became red, and teary.  i got hit with the first sharp pain, and i hit the table with my fist, and  sweared at he beast (inavertantly,  my swear was more out of anger than pain at first)  she was of course suprised.  she asked what was wrong, and i told her that i had a monster that live in my head. i just knew she thought i was crazy.  i told her   that we live in peace at times, and then other times we wrestled, and he usually won.  i gave her the money for my check, told her i would be fine, and i would call her later.  i tried to make it to my car,  but i couldn't.  i i found the bathroom, and thank GOD it was  empty.  i came out of the bathroom 40 minutes later, and there she was.  she waited there for me.  i was  glad, but shocked.  i explained to her what it was.  she sort of understood, she has ice pick migrains.
the funny thing was that i had invited her to lunch to talk to her about  my CH.  i guess  she got a crash course in the effects, and some of the terms we use for CH.  anyway,  my point was that our language sounds strange to most that don't know, but it is accurate non the less.
any one else have a similar situation?

Yep, when in a cycle alcohol has the same affect on me.

Yeah Pinky, I have only been on this site like 6 days now and already have started using the terminology. The people I work with are pretty cool and most want to know about the CHs.  I started talking about the fact that I was having shadow after shadow today, and they just looked at me like I was nuts. Then I realized I was speaking CH.com-eze and ess-plained myself a little better.

Just my lil story to add on  :D

threw caution to the winds and had a light beer earlier.  I'll pay.... oh yes, I'll pay.
