Title: Need some support today...
Post by TraceaTX on Jun 8th, 2003, 3:07pm
>:(

I have had shadows most of the day but now the pain is growing intense.  I just took a cafergot hoping to get rid of the h/a.  I did my o2 earlier....why the hell is the pain not gone this time?  Last time I got out of the hospital I was pain free for 3 months??????

How am I supposed to work like this, let alone live a regular life?  I have a 5 yr old that depends on me and an ex-husband that will use these headaches as an excuse to prove me unfit as a parent.

I am not having a good day.....

Tracea :'(

Tracea,

Hang in there. Stay calm... don't worry about anything but getting rid of the pain right now. One minute and problem at a time. If you stress yourself out right now, the pain will get worse. Your "wonderful" ex-husband can wait. Your 5 yr old will love you no matter what.

The demon will leave, he always does.

PF thoughts your way,

Bryan

Tracea,
Sorry you're having a bad day...it will get better...it always does so hang in there the best you can.

Now...... the beast is a mean, sneaky, hateful bastard...what works one time may not work the next.  >:(   The good news is there are things out there that you haven't tried yet.  First of all make sure you're using your oxygen correctly....and use it as often as you feel the need...don't wait.

What else have you used to abort and what prevents are you on?

Good Luck,
Jacks 8)

I'm sorry you're having shadows and pain, but there are a lot of things that you can use to try to abort it.  There are many natural remedies that might work for you.  Try them all.  Like Jacks said, try the 02 again, and make sure you are using it right.  Here is the link:

You can work and live a normal life with ch's. Your daughter is going to love you no matter what, and I may be wrong, but I don't think....legally....your ex-husband would have a leg to stand on.  Get all the documentation you can about ch's......have all your ammo ready.

Good luck,
Tracey

Tracea-
Today might be tough, but there are so many here to help you get through today- and tomorrow could be much better!
As those above this post have said, check the 02 info, dig deep into everyone's bag of tricks and try to focus on the time in between hits.
5 yr olds will always love us unconditionally- and, well, your ex..it's gonna be hard for him to put anything over on you.
Keep us posted, T, and use this MB to get what you need to help you cope.
Hang in!

CH sucks but they do go away.  You can not lead a regular life when you are under attack. but lots of people lead irregular lives when they need to treat other ailments as well.

Your 5 year old has no worries. You'll be there for him/her no matter what and you know that.

Start trying out some alternative pain management techniques that will help you cope. Are you using imitrex to abort? Do you have an educated Doc? If so, use him to the fullest.

Your child is the most important thing in your life. I sure you know that already and will not let the beast come between you. PFD and hang in there!! You will find meds that will help you cope! You will cope! Its just a matter of time! I feel for you and know your desperation, but like I said it will pass.

PFD !!

Strange, sometimes when I am work and I get hit I can stress myself out by worrying that I will screw up and lose my job that I can abort the CH with no meds. It seems that the beast hates stress for most. I also got so little sleep one week that the stress gave me 5 PF days. As soon as I recovered I started getting hit again.

Here is a link for no med treatments

Tracea,
Don't let the Fear take over.  It adds to the Guilt and the Pain.  I fight all of them a great deal, but I'm learning how to win the battles - you can too.

If you're not on a preventative, get one.  The Beast is tricky and sneaky.  I keep a list of the home remedies handy & ready for the fights.

I bet your 5-year-old knows you're a great Mom even when you feel like this.  It will get better for you.

Sending Pain Free vibes,
Kate

I have used all the "new" drugs: maxalt, amerge, etc. and the old ones Midrin, Fiorinal.. right now I have had the most success with one of three depending on the mood of my h/a : Imitrex inj, Cafergot, O2.  Again, it just depends.  Today nutin has really worked...I have done the O2 most of the day b/c I really can't over use it, I did Cafergot once as well as the Imitrex once (well far apart) and I am @ a 5 on the Kip.  The most bothersome aspect are the shadows...I took my night meds at 9pm (which are enough to knock out a cow) but my head hurts too much to sleep.....I am tired....I am going to try one more time to sleep...

Do all you know how to do to fight this horror. One thing I know is that children know how do deal with a parent's pain better than you know. At least from that angle things aren't so dark.

You're doing all right. Just keep it going.

Woo Hoo
Well I am exhausted today and the right side of my head feels fuzzy and numb (could be from that Occipital Block he did - man that was out of the Matrix or something) but so far so good....  thank you everyone for helping me last night.  This was the first time I felt like I didn't go thru an episode alone.  Consider yourselves hugged today!

Tracea  :)
