Title: So far so good!!
Post by gene on May 31st, 2003, 10:23pm
Hey Guys!!
Success so far with my prednisone taper. I'm on a 10 day deal/ first wk 60mg per day/ then 10 less every day. So far no chs. Also no sleep but who cares!! Anything!!
I'm finding out that I am extremely fortunate/ cycles typically last 4-6 weeks/ 4-7 episodes per day/night. I've also skipped a year most cycles.
Can I hang my hat on the cycle lengths staying consistent? What's your thoughts on the result of this pred taper? Might it break the cycle a few weeks early? Might they come immediately back?
thanks Gene

My experiance with pred. (I've had a lot) is that the Ch attacks will return at the end of the taper. You need to be on a preventative along with the taper.

I've had CH for 26 years. My cycles have gone anywhere from 3 months to nine months. A good preventative for me is 480 Mg of verapimil per day.

Start the preventative ASAP, it takes a week or two for the preventative to build up in your system and become therapitic.

at the same time with the prd? My cycles have typically been 4/5/6 weeks long// 4-8 attacks per day// Once a year or every other year for 12ish years
