Title: Dental fillings? Post by Jeff_W on May 24th, 2003, 7:05pm How about mercury poisoning. Could people without fillings have been exposed to mercury too? I had my doctors appointment last week & wouldn't you know it, I had an attack on his table. He was giving me acupunture & acupressure treatment for pain. Early on during the treatment I told the doc I was feeling pressure behind my eye.Told him I thought I had a head ache coming on. 5 minutes later I told him I was sure I had one, pain was increasing rapidly. He put 4 needles in my neck & told me to concentrate on the ones in my feet. He left the room telling me he would be back in a few minutes. The cluster went right up to a 10. I wanted to go out to my car & get on the o2.I stuck it out thinking he was monitoring the lenght of time or intensity of the headache. He came back about 20 min. later. I was writhing around on the table in agony hyper ventilating. He stated the room smelled of burning rubber. He told me I was thru for the day. On my way out I asked him about the rubber smell. He stated he thought it was from my body & thought it was caused (maybe) from heavy metals in my body.Possibly from mecury or lead or ? He wants me to be tested for heavy metals. Any one have any such experience with this? I want to thank everyone that replied & read my last post(first post). You all know how I feel(greatfull)as I am sure you yourselfs have felt from this forum. Thanks again -Jeff |

Title: Dental fillings? Post by BobG on May 24th, 2003, 8:01pm This is only my opinion and I'm not a dentist or doctor. I don't believe there is any connection between clusters and fillings. I got many mercury amalgam silver fillings years before I ever got my first cluster attack. 30 years later I still have many mercury amalgam silver fillings but I haven't had a cluster cycle since 1998. (I do get 2 or 4 individual attacks a month but I know what brings those on and it's not my fillings) Stick mercury amalgam silver fillings in your Google and you'll get many hits on the subject. |

Title: Re: Dental fillings? Post by Ueli on May 24th, 2003, 9:31pm All this gibberish about the alleged dangers of the mercury in tooth fillings is one of bigest health frauds ever to hit the world. Beware of everyone subscribing to that! Read about it at Quackwatch: The Mercury Amalgam Scam (http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/mercury.html) and what the National Council Against Health Fraud has to say: NCAHF Position Paper on Amalgam Fillings (http://www.dentalwatch.org/hg/amalgampp.html) PFNADs Ueli |

I think your Doc was hit in the head with heavy metals when he was a kid. Sure that rubber smell wasn't from his Mercedes schreeching out the diveway? |
