Title: Convention Post by catlind on May 22nd, 2003, 4:40pm Okay folks, this is the last call for convention rooms. If I don't have an email from you (and you plan to attend) or a registration, then you will be on your own to get your room come convention time. (I'll help you find a place but I can't guarantee a room in the main building of the resort). I have to release the rooms and we are halfway to the 50 registrants (some are still pending). If you don't know yet if you can attend, and don't want me to hold a room, you can STILL come to the convention, we will just have to do some scrambling for a room. Can't guarantee close proximity to the amenities though :) As it stands right now, the convention is moving along very smoothly. Dr. Bigal and his cohort from the New England Center for Headache, Dr. Sanderson from the local ER (have to double check with her for confirmation) and a local crisis counsellor to tell us what can be done when we hit that final wall. I am also looking into getting some local pharmacy reps to come - Merck, Pfizer are the hopefuls at this time, as well as a pharmacist (maybe). Here's the menu for the weekend: Saturday during the day there will be coffee, tea, soda, donuts and pastries during the speaking engagements. The banquet Sat. night will be: BBQ chicken or pork chops, Italian Sausage, Hofmann hot doggs and beef burgers with all the fixins, sauteed peppers, and onions, corn on the cob, baked beans, two fresh salads (potato and green with one more being added I think) fresh fruit, coffee or tea, and our very own bar waitress. Friday night we will have a hospitality room set up where you will receive your OUCH goodie bag and can mix and mingle and meet the other guests. Cocktails will be available in the next room. (we can't supply our own alcohol, it's against the liquor license laws in NY, so we have to buy from the bar, but we should be getting a discount if you wear an OUCH badge). We have lots of goodies set up for door prizes and awards, but you'll just have to show up to see what those are :) Of course I'm still taking any donations for those items :) Ummm I think that's about it, so if anyone has any questions please feel free to email me :) Oh yeah, there are no cottages left, they are all taken now. Remember, you MUST let me know by next week if you want a room held for you. Cat |

Title: Re: Convention Post by Peppermint on May 22nd, 2003, 6:12pm CAt... Gee, I have been waiting on some funds, but my check is in the mail tomorrow morning with the registration. Suzy and I will share a room (Suze if you see this, lets do the plane tickets tonight ok?) and will be traveling up together. The other thing is the shuttle to and from the airport. I remember this was kind of vague... any news on that? We will definitely need it as we are flying to Syracuse, the cheapest way to get there. Ok, I would've emailed you but if I keep putting it off, I'll never do it. And then I'd be getting my ass kicked by a few people I know, including a Mass guy that says I should drive my Caaaah up. ;D |

Title: Re: Convention Post by cootie on May 22nd, 2003, 10:59pm A big FUCKENEH to you Cat......also I fergot ta mentionearlier ......Brad is goin to hammer out a homemade railroad spike knife for the convention....not sure if you do an auction or what for things like that ? He has a couple rite now he needs to get done for friends gifts yet first here soon and each one takes a while to make. There pretty darn cool. So he wants to have one or two ready for the convention and you guys figure out what you wanna do with em as far as a door prize or raffle to raise more money and let the winner get the knife and money go to the club.He makes metal roses to....all metal rose petals hand done on a stem....some are out of cooper. Not sure he can get one done in time or not but will try. Will that be ok ?? We usually make a simple nice pouch for it to to protect it. Does this sound like a good idea to do ? Should he plan to make one or sumthin ? Leme know.......Pam offitial knife maker house |

Title: Re: Convention Post by catlind on May 23rd, 2003, 9:30am Jonny, rock on bro, thanks soooooooo much for the awesome prints!!! Fubar!!! AWESOME, so glad you are going to make it!!! Pam, the knife and rose sound spectacular!!! Definitely want those for raffle/prizes/awards! Thanks oodles!! For those that are not renting cars, (I still haven't heard about a discount so I'm going to call them back next week), there is a shuttle we can hook up with the resort, but the price will be $90 roundtrip unless we get a much higher number of registrants. Otherwise, if the numbers are low, we will do the shuttling :) Cat |
