Title: A (Long) Lunch with Miklos
Post by Roxy on May 20th, 2003, 6:03pm
It's always so special to meet another ch'er, and I have to say, meeting Miklos was just a damn good time. I got the first class tour of his office, and then was treated to a wonderful barbeque lunch.  We sat and talked for hours after the lunch too.  He is just as eloquent and witty in person, as he is in his posts.

I think it is a great shame that he and his wife Ginny won't be able to make the convention.  They would be a great addition to what I know is going to be a wonderful weekend.

Any chance you ever have to meet another one of this message board family.....don't pass it up.  It's just too much fun.

Before I begin my formal rebuttal of Roxy's praise, I need to make one quick comment.

Don, if you cannot tell the difference between us, it suggests you enjoy a VERY flexible sex life.

Damn! I thought I would escape the attention of the white-haired witch (sp?) who is also a liar. Why aren't you watching your new puppies? Why aren't you tracking down TomM as I suggested earlier?

Roxy told me things about you that if I were to post them on this board would earn me an "ACCESS DE-NIED" from the moderator, a man of tender sensibilities.

OK, so you are -way- older than the picture that is on the cluster head picture website. You probably don't have those tattoos anymore either. Too bad, black looked good on you. You looked slender and slinky, kind of. If, you like that type. Which I do! 'Course I couldn't tell about the warts.

Okay! After spending 18 in years in solitary, it was a pleasure meeting with another convict. We went to lunch and jabbered, and then came back to office to jabber some more. Non-stop talk. I think I mentioned that the boss came by several times to see if we were still at it, threw up his hands and then went away. He never complained though.

A one-on-one,  in person conversation with someone who truly understands clusters is exhilarating. You can fill in the blanks in an unfinished sentence or have them filled in for you instead. Explanations are not needed. The message board is interesting, but a live person is better! Roxy is an especially "live" person.

Nuff said. I could go on for pages, but think you get the gist.

The only thing I did not understand was the funny clothes she was wearing in cold rainy weather.

if i can interject here....it's exactly the same feeling when supporters meet.
Bonnie Woods called me before the convention last year and we ended up yacking on the phone for nearly 2 hours, never before having ever spoke!  When we finally did meet, face to face - I recognized her from across the parking lot...like meeting long lost family.  Instant bond with supporters too.  If any of you EVER get the chance to meet someone from Clusteropolis.......TAKE it!!!

I agree 100% Margi.  I've spoke with some supporters on the phone, and I usually can't remember whether they are ch'ers or a supporter.  To me they are a member of this family, so it makes no difference.  Good people are just good people.....however you look at it.

Thanks for the reminder that it is the same bond.

Tracey
