Title: Update TerryS
Post by TerryS on May 15th, 2003, 2:00am
Just finishing up 10 nights in a row at work. Now I can look forward to 4 nights off. I haven't been sleeping very well for the last 2 days. I get out of work at 6 AM and into bed by 6:30 AM and a sleep by 7 till 2 PM. Felt sluggish all afternoon and tonight at work. Don't know if its withdraws or what? Also sharp pain in left tempo like one of my ch trying to come on. Same place I get my ch. I hate that burning knot in my tempo and eye. Like a hot poker being driven in to my left tempo. The only differance is this isn't as server as my ch's get. But getting very painful just the same. This is the same pain I have been using the Stadol ns, Fioricet and Vicodin on  the past 4 years now. Thank God my Nuero spotted the problem because my family Dr. didn't. The only way I could tell when I was in cycle was the severity of the pain and how my normal cycle always ran. But this is almost constant day in and day out. Wears on you after a while.

I would like to thank you all for all your support. Your comments have helped me tremendously.
You all have renewed my strength to carry me on with this battle.

Thank you and my God bless you all.I love you guys.

Terry,
Sorry you have been having such a hectic time with work and all.  I hope you are able to enjoy those 4 days off. I couldnt say why you would be having this constant pain hanging around with you but just wanted you to know I am thinking of you and hoping for PF days soon to you.
Take care of yourself and try to get lots of rest now,
Suzy

Terry,

I'm sorry you're still getting a bit of the bad luck...Vibes from over here in the Philly area.

Plus,
I've said this a few times...if you're taking opiate or opioids chronically for longer then a few weeks, you have to slowly taper the dose. Most people wouldn't question tapering off of heart meds or steroids. The same goes for narcotic pain killers. If you don't taper, you'll get sick. There's no reason to go through the physical symptoms of abrupt withdrawal of opiates. Your body produces an opiate-like chemical naturally and when you replace it with meds, your body gets lazy and slows down production of this chemical. This is why you get sick when you stop abruptly. Your body needs time to adjust. Kinda like when you first start exercising after being a couch potato for years. You wouldn't sprint 20 miles the first day. You would gradually work up your conditioning. Give your body time to adjust.

I'll get down off of my soap-box now. ;)

Good luck Terry
