Title: Anyone else get this? It's wierd and trippy.... Post by kingsiren on May 13th, 2003, 10:58pm I have ben getting Clusters for about 8 years. This episode has been especially brutal but I think I have found a decent Neuro who knows what he's talking about. He took me off Inderal and gave me a 7 day pack of prednisone and a milder Beta, I dont have it in front of me I believe it's Corgard. He also has me trying Relpax for acute attacks and I'm pretty happy with it. I usually get 1 or 2 major Kip 10's a week and this time is no different. the meds seem to help with the milder ones but the big boys keep coming. When I am in the grip of a 10'r, I get Lucid dream like visions about people mocking me. They happen to be Asian and I don't know what that means, I hope not to offend anyone, I just dont know whats going on. I dont think it's the Meds because it happened before i switched. I have also thrown up a few times but I think thats just from the volume of pain I have been experiencing. Any thoughts?? |

In times of sleep deprivation, I often find myself, NOT nodding off but drifting away, into a sort of strange trance, where I keep hearing snatches of conversation -by people I don't know, saying things of no import and very little interest. As soon as I found I was not going crazy (not more than usual, anyway) I started to enjoy these strange half trances, half dreams, where I am wide awake and do take not of things that happen around me. Does this sound like what you are experiencing? If so, probbly no problem then. |

Post by cynthy on May 14th, 2003, 6:36pm I have been lurking here for over 2 years, I love this board, didn't think I had anything more to add but your message hit home, I'm in the process of changing meds and going thru hell right now, yesterday I just needed some rest so I took an imitrex tablet (I have the shots too) I figured the o2 has been aborting them before they became a 10, Well the beast had other ideas, and the o2 didn't touch this, for 1 hour I was at a 10, Your mind can and will do very strange things, and your all alone in this, no one can help or even touch you, I know I felt and new nothing but pain, I wasn't aware of my body or surroundings and I swear I did see the beast, Its evil, dark and ugly.. And yes when it was over I did get sick, but I imagine it was the pain, and then I cried like a baby. But I won't forget what I saw, Is it normal ???? from all the posts that I have read,,,,, well,,,,,, clusterheads are not normal,,,,, :) hope this helps cindy |

The throwing up only started in the last few years...around the same time that I went chronic. It's not often that I get sick but only when I start getting pounded with the 10's and start taking too many pills too close together...yuck! |

Post by kingsiren on May 16th, 2003, 6:18pm I don't think that the fact that they are Asia makes a difference, I just know it's pretty trippy and it's not pleasant. I thought that maybe my mind was trying to help me cope with the pain but then they wouldn't be nightmares, they would be pleasant. And yes, I am absolutely nuts but I was nuts before my episodes started. The first time it happened I thought "Fuck, is God that sick that he would let me have an acid flashback and a 10'r at the same time?" It's son funny what crosses your mind. The Relpax seems to be working and the Prednisone has eased up the intensity a bit so I'm feeling pretty good. I hate to say that I'm doing better because The Demon seems to know and then hit me harder but I got my fingers crossed. Good luck everyone and God Bless. Petey |

For example, there is an anti-malarial notorious for this. You could double-check with your pharmacist (or read those enclosures that came with your meds) to see if any of your meds are in this category. However, the combo of lucid dreams and vomitting only at KIP 10 makes me wonder if you are experiencing decreased bloodflow to the brain during a severe CH attack. Both symptoms are consistent with your brain cells not obtaining adequate oxygen. Is it possible that you are experiencing combined cluster/migraine symptoms (yuck)? But...there are lots of things that could cause this. Sounds like a good thing to discuss with your doctor, sooner rather than later. PFDAN, Laurie |
