Title: new guy
Post by Maggie_may on May 12th, 2003, 1:51pm
Hi everyone,
Ive been listening to you guys for a few months now and thought I could give this a shot. I have been suffering from CH for about 20 years (2-3 times a year)
my latest episode was about a month ago and it lasted about 3 weeks. I couldnt hardley take it. But get this Never had I been Diagnosed with anything but migraines. I accidentley bumped into CH on the net. There right in front of my eyes was MY HEADACHE. I couldnt believe it. I went to the doctor armed with my internet diognosis. The symptoms are very specific, Nasal conjestion, watery eye, piercing pain there is no mistaking this for anything else. My doctor agreed and gave me three different scripts. I have to tell you I feel Ive been suffering alone all this time and I now find out there are others. Another thing I have to say is I live in a small town in North Dakota (close to nowhere) so we are lucky to see any doctor let alone a specialist. I thank God for the internet. I wonder when the next clinical trial will come here. HA-HA.
I have learned fom this web site that some of you have cronic CH. I cant even imagine. I am lucky in that mine only last 1-2 hrs ( always between 6-9pm) and are gone in 3-4 weeks. But one thing is confusing to me they say they disappear as fast as they come. My eye and jaw are still tender days after my last CH. THanks every one.    :)Maggie-May

Maggie_may: Welcome to the family. Say, are you related to Rod Stewart ??? Anyway, we have tons of information at this site and if you can't find it, just ask.

I find that my jaw pain is an indicator of what will happen. I also have TMJ as do many CH'ers. Have you asked about that? Some of this can be considered 'shadows' if they occur with a lingering HA (headache).
Good luck.

Hi Maggie_may

You couldn't have come to a better site for the understanding and management of this terrible condition. Sorry your suffering at the moment, but I hope that now you've got your new meds and have found a new family, that you will find some hope and painfree time...

There's lot's of good people here who go through the same thing as you so stick around and read, learn and ask questions.

I'm also episodic and my left eye and temple will usually stay sore for a few days after the cycle ends...no biggie.

Hi Maggie,
I too am new here. Isn't this just amazing to have found these people? I don't know if you have seen it yet but if you have a minute you might want to look at the post page titled: 'Painful jaw and teeth' on the posts page. Er, I think that's the title well, something close to that anyway. If you get the fire ants in your jaw and  Tmj is also a topic there as well.
I wish you painfree days and welcome to this great support group!
Marianne ;D

Maggie I am so glad you found CH.com... good for you.  Keep coming back we need you.  I noticed that no one answered your question yet... The reason they say they disappear as fast as they come or something of that nature is because they appear (the cycle starts) goes up... peaks and makes its way down until they disappear... I dont think they meant an attack persee...
good luck and Welcome Ive seen you around and you have alot of good things to say... Pain free days and cozy nights to you Ree

Wishing you pain free days and nights,

Welcome to the mad house MM. This place amazed and still amazes. If only this thing existed 35 years ago. Gotta thank DJ for coming up with it at all. He's the best.
