Title: RAIN! PLEASE STOP!!! Post by 9erfan on May 7th, 2003, 7:27pm Ok, it's time for me to vent again! I'm on board with the theory that there is some correlation between our pain and changes in barometric pressure. Granted, I don't get 10's EVERY time it rains...but for the past couple of years I've noticed that every time I DO get 10's, it's raining again. Well, now it's been raining here for over 2 weeks and the 10's have been sticking with me for 2 WEEKS!! I'm losing my mind....I just keep praying that the rain will stop! Thank God for my Mom who has been taking care of me....but the last week has been pretty dark. I missed 3 days of work last week and 2 this week (at a job that I don't get paid sick days). I tried to come in on Monday and by the time I got here I was virtually in tears and my boss sent me home. :-[ I haven't had a pain free day in over 2 years but at least every day is not a 10. Maybe I've gotten too complacent with my 3's, 5's, 7's everyday. I know they will end! THEY WILL END! But some times it's hard to see that light at the end of the tunnel when you're on the floor pounding your head against the wall. As usual, thanks for letting me just ramble. You're the only ones who "GET IT". Virginia |

Title: Re: RAIN! PLEASE STOP!!! Post by Charlie on May 7th, 2003, 8:01pm Damn. I hate it that anyone has to go through this level of pain and then every day. This kind of thing makes me want to damage something. It ain't your fault at all. I think we all go through thinking this though. The barometric pressure theory, I've read or heard before. It's not something I have a lot of faith in but I wonder if it's something different you do because of it that may have an effect, if in the slight chance, I could buy this idea. One never knows. I'm a crabby old skeptic but whatever you do, and don't care if you stand on yer head and paint yourself blue, so long as it works. Rant on Virginia. It's what we're here for. Charlie |

Title: Re: RAIN! PLEASE STOP!!! Post by CathiP on May 7th, 2003, 11:28pm Well, that explains why there are so few Ch'ers in OR! Virginia, I hate that you're going through this tough time. One of my friends here likes to say, when it gets really tough, "well, I guess I just have to get tougher". Hang tough, Virginia, and like Charlie said, rant away. Sending out the big vibes for you! Title: Re: RAIN! PLEASE STOP!!! Post by Peppermint on May 8th, 2003, 8:25am Darn Virginia, it sux that you are getting slammed like this. >:( You likely are getting little to no sleep right? Just wanted to put in a suggestion that may help, who knows... My good friend is also chronic, and he gets hit mostly 8's and tens, every day, like clockwork. Recently he tried some melatonin supplements before bed and that has been helping him get some much needed sleep. Lack of sleep makes dealing all the worse, so this stuff has been a boon for him. Last night was not so good, but for a few weeks now, it has been helping some. I don't know if this will help you at all, I know the melatonin tea has a quicker result. He's going to try that next, maybe the tab he took just took too long to kick in or whatever - its a mystery. I just thought I'd mention it, in case you hadn't tried it. If you do, I hope it has the desired effect. Hope the rain, in every sense, goes away soon. Peppermint ;) |

Title: Re: RAIN! PLEASE STOP!!! Post by stevek on May 8th, 2003, 9:25am Virginia, Sorry to hear you are hurting. I hope that you are near the end of the cycle and have pain free days soon. I moved from palo alto to southern California partly due to the weather. We have had some rain this week but there have been several sunny days. My cycles are shorter when I have more sun/beach time. Heat is bad, but surfing seems to work well since the water keeps me cool while I’m out in the surf. My CH solution -> surf more. LOL Take care, Stevek |
