Title: Need answers on headaches
Post by cbolony on May 7th, 2003, 8:14am
OK need some answers on my after my cycle headaches. When my cycle ends I still get low kip headaches on my left side in the eye, temple, back of my head. These headaches come and go all day long. I had 3 cycles since June and in between cycle I get these headaches. Does anybody know what these headaches are. Went for brain scan everything is good.

Hi Cbolony,

I generally get very low kip headaches after my cycle "ends".  (The beast is leaving, but not without a fight!)  However, that only lasts for about a month or two and then I'm completely pain free.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.....

Joanie

They're called shadows. Very common.

This is the first year in the last 5 that I haven't had daily shadows from February to April/May.

But then, I never been this old either. Maybe I've out-lived them.

I only have the problem you describe when I go cold turkey on the Eskalith and Calan SR. If I taper off the meds correctly, I get very few shadows. Which is where I am now. Yippee!!

For about 20 years, whenever my cycle would end, they'd be gone completely.   After this last cycle, I have had shadows (all really low-kip  ---  almost insignifcant) off and on since Oct.

I'm not worried about it as long as I'm not in pain or getting woken up in the middle of the night.   ;)

Hi Cbolony.  I don't think your situation is that uncommon.  I have had shadows since Sept 2001.  Full blown CH cycle except for Oct 2002 through March 2003.  Now full blown CH cycle again.

Up untill the end (?) of my last cycle shadows left with the beast.  My LAST cycle was longer and much more severe than any cycle I had had in over ten years, and I get hit once or twice a year. I have been having shadows and even some CPH stlye "jabs" daily since the last cycle. I used to PF between cycles, now I'm not. It's nothing like a full blown blaster, except those "jabs" so for the most part I am OK....it's just the mental part of having the beast hover, or "stalk" as Don put it.

It's like I could ramp up to  a  K10 in a matter of minutes. In the past I always experienced shadows sometimes months BEFORE an attack so I know when they are coming...now it's like they never left.  :-/

I am on an O2 campaign now anyway. I will have it by the fall...one way or the other. I am in industrial supply so we have accounts with many vendors, including welding shops! I have asked my Neuro twice in the last year for it....I get some new pill instead....last time it was Topamax.. :P  I will give him one more chance  ::)

Good Thread CB,
