Title: For Vig
Post by catlind on Apr 28th, 2003, 3:14pm
I decided to start you a new thread so that everyone can get to meet you.

Often times new people post in other threads and they can get lost in the cracks.

Tell us something about what treatment options you are using right now.

There's someone here who has used it or that can tell you a better way :)

I started with elavil as a preventive and that helped...
the headaches subsided as well as my energy and my, well, let's just say that my ex was not happy with that side effect.   So I stopped taking it.

imitrex nasal works great when they hit, but $$$$,
so now I carry Excedrin Quicktabs in my pocket, my car, my desk, etc...  and for all I know this is just placebo anyway,

I'd like to try others and the insurance at my new job is about to start.  Which means I get to go and bother a new doctor with all of this.  Where should I start him?

Start him by reading the medications page and printing out everything you can about oxygen.  O2 is one of THE best abortives going.  There's a new page just finished with everything you ever needed to know about O2 but were afraid to ask!

Most people live by their immitrex, O2 and verapamil as a preventative.  Go through the site and find the pertinent information regarding treatments and print it all out and take it to the new doc.

Glad to hear you are about to get insurance again.  That should help enormously in you controlling the beast :)

i know they like to steer you into what they are familiar with.  It sounds like I should really press for the Oxygen.  Is it expensive?
