Freaks you out doesn't it Pam?

My credit card number got stolen somehow (it has never left me so it had to be an online theft) and someone racked up $1000's on it on ebay before I realised. I wouldn't have known but they pushed it over the credit limit (frighteningly I have a £10,000 credit limit!) by buying something which cost £5000 and my card got stopped. My credit card company said that ebay was where fraudsters most commonly use stolen card numbers or stolen cards in the UK.

I still shop online though!

Hey Coots,

Thanx for the info! My wife buys a ton of stuff from ebay and I will be sure to let her read your post. I'll only let her read your post because I don't want her to read some of my other replies. ;D ;D ;D

Seeya,

I wasn't selling anything !! Someone got my account ID info and assumed my identity on ebay so they could list expensive items and me be charged on my ebay account as if I listed them. This person even had there email addy changed to be mine. Now that is scarey !!! I could not access my own account cuz they changed my  password and figured it out somehow. I am not on ebay much not do I sell stuff but it is fun once in a while......kinda scares me now. And get this......the item is BACK on under anouther name....a person wanting the product contacted me about it and sent me the info. It's a item goin for over $ 4,000.00 at this moment !! I notiified ebay about itt.....Identyless on ebay for while Pam

Sorry to bump this boreing thread to the top.....not sure anyone was much interested..but jus an update jus in case here. I got a notice from ebay today they took whatever action appropriate with the person that had listings under my account name and took over my account to get the charges for the listing ect charged to me. But I had saved the item number and info and jus checked and it was not taken off and did sell for OVER $ 6,000.00. It's under anouther account ID name now but is the same item....pic of it on a beat up box with duct tape and is the extact product they had listed under my name for sale. So it jus goes to prove you can get away with cyber murder in sum cases. BEWARE.......ripped off pissed of Pam.....yeah I did get my account credited....but it was freaky someone got away with what they did and can continue on and was woried they could also get my credit card info...................ya know ? Rant is now officially OVER.......sorry..........................

That happened to a buddy of mine here at work, they locked his accoutn and when he contacted them to see why they told him that someone over in England or somewhere was using his account to bid on some high priced items.  Crazy indeed.

I finelly said fuck it and contacted that guy that had the item for sale that was under my account name 'n my account locked and stolen. The item was pulled by ebay then relisted in a day by this other guy. The guy has been emailin back he has "no idea" what is goin on.....I sent ebay the page this item was on again and this other guys info and they said he was NOT a register'd user and was suspended.....me thinks they LIE !!!! So......the apporpriate thing ta do was send ebay anuther email and BITCH about it....what da heck rite ? Lost identity for a day Pam (my credit card was charged for the listing fee's then credited...yet ebay says these scam artists can not get my credit card info....lier lier pants on fire !!)
