Title: What made my day... Post by brain_cramps on Apr 25th, 2003, 11:22am What made my day... The other day while I was sitting out in the sun 8) , having a beer http://uselessgraphics.com/boozer.gif , watching a hockey game on TV http://uselessgraphics.com/puck2.gif (without freezing my a$$ off http://flamepillar.com/smileice.gif ), the thought that hit me was "Isn't life great?" This is with possible unemployment and probable bankruptcy around the corner. (No, this wasn't added in to whine!!!) Point being, it didn't take much to make my day (probably the same with most of you). Instead of usually hearing a lot of negative $hit, its always nice to hear the positive. Another thing that comes to mind right now is the absence of fighting on the board in the last little while. Anyone else? Anything happen, big or small, to make your day? grant 8) |

Title: Re: What made my day... Post by cathy on Apr 25th, 2003, 11:29am Grant... You are absolutely right, life is great and I think all the other shit that is thrown at you slides into insignificance when you realise that the gift of life itself is so precious, having recently gone through wes's heart attack with him and to still have him here with me puts everything into perspective.....also today I came home to my dinner on the table, cooked by my 15 year old son....no doubt I'll find out what he wants later...lol :) Cathy |

Title: Re: What made my day... Post by JDH on Apr 25th, 2003, 11:34am Good post Grant, Although nothing out of the ordinary happened, it was a good day. I got the grass cut, walked the dogs, did some bbq ing, and like you, watched some hockey. Could've been much worse I guess. Seems like the older I get, the easier I am to please. And yes, the infighting has not been missed so...... STAY AWAY MichaelC! :D Hope you all have a great pf weekend! Jim |

Title: Re: What made my day... Post by nancyann on Apr 25th, 2003, 11:50am My husband rode into work with me today (took the hour and a half ride) just to make sure that I did not have any problems with this seizure stroke symptom stuff i'm having. We just got back from lunch. It was quite nice. I'm taking off early to pick up my 2 1/2 year old daughter and tomorrow going to pick up my step son from his moms. Nothing could be better in such maddness than knowing that everyone is safe in their beds at night and that all of the love under one roof gets you through!! To all that are suffering I say this Look at someone you love and heave a sigh to know that you are there to love them. :) :) |

Title: Re: What made my day... Post by Brian_Y on Apr 25th, 2003, 11:52am I was playing golf yesterday afternoon and me and one of my boys were sitting in the cart waiting for another person to take their shot. My friend looked at me while puffing on his cigar and said: "Where would you rather be right now"? "Nowhere" I said. I played terribly yesterday, but that stayed with me all day. Perspective is everything. |

Title: Re: What made my day... Post by TomM on Apr 25th, 2003, 1:30pm Reading this thread made my day!! :-* Work is busy but good. The alternative to busy is bad, IMHO. :) Don't think I'll get any fishing done this weekend but I have plans for yardwork, housework, networking my home PC's and, best of all, car shopping for da spousal unit. Time to trade in the Miata for something a little bigger and faster. Baby needs a new set of wheels...convertible style! ;D Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. Title: Re: What made my day... Post by Callico_Kid on Apr 27th, 2003, 2:49am Great tread! So often we overlook the little things that really make life worth while. Just got done planting thirteen rose bushes. I haven't had any roses since I moved back up north, thought they were to much hassle with the shorter growing season and the extracare needed, but decided it was time to quit letting the little problem keep me from the enjoyment they can bring. The change in perspective makes the big difference. Congrats to Tina and Ramon on your new house. Congrats also to Lirrgirl on your new home. I hope they will be happy for you all. Grant, we will pray for your job and financial situation. I know what that is like, and it isn't fun. Keep your head up. jc |

Title: Have a day Post by rumplestiltskin on Apr 27th, 2003, 8:03am "sometimes ya get shown the light in the strangest of places if ya look at it right"....Grateful Dead I got one of those "yer exactly where yer spossed to be" moments of clarity and acceptance as I interupted my weekend with a harried rush back to work to do something important that I had forgotten which could adversly effect a lot of people. The usual "get the hell outta my way" attitude was replaced with one of gratitude. My "faith in a plan that I am not in charge of" tools kicked in. Instead of being caught up in thoughts of guilt for my fogetfulness and disatisfaction with"plans gone wrong"...I was able to take a step back from concentrating on the tiny threads and got a glimpse of the larger tapestry. Sweet perspective! I thought of some the folks here who, due to their pain and circumstance, are stuck in a mire of dispair. Heads hung down. Me wanting to bring them comfort. Like how tryin to open a rose before it's bloom time only destroys it, I knew tellin them to "lighten up" might fall on deaf ears.....each in their own time. Extremely important thread you started here. 2 Clusterheads with the same pain. One stares down a barrel...the other endures with serenity. How are they different?......... Perspective. Love the one yer with. Walk in the sunshine. den |
