Yesterday was bad for me..I went through 15 attacks..more than I ever have. Has anyone else ever experienced this many in one day?

I have been suffering since December daily non stop ranging from 7-9 all day meds will ocasionally bring the pain down to a 4 or 5

I am sorry to say yes Mom,
It's not usual for me but I swear I have had attacks back to back for days or even weeks at a time. Before I came here I would have said I was having attacks that lasted 2 or 3 days. It has been suggested that I was having back to back attacks rather than one big one. There did seem to be some oscillation from really bad to really really bad. CPH (http://www.clusterheadaches.org/comparison_table.htm) is another possibility. Either way it sucks. I hope you get a break.

Clusters normally range from 1 every other day up to 8 per day. 15 is a lot.

I'll say it again, if you think you may have clusters, you're absolutely nuts if you don't try indocin (indomethacin) as a preventative right off the bat. Especially if you're female.

Indocin is almost 100% effective against CPH which can present exactly like CH.

When I'm in cycle, I don't think I can even count to 15!!! ::)

2 in 1 day is the most for me. Damn, I almost feel priviledged. :-/

Maybe ten tops during the peak of it, but fifteen is a bummer, one is a bummer when you think about it.

When mine get to be more than 10 a day.. I know they cycle is close to ending..always goes up in number & intensity just before the beast decides to leave town for me. Maybe the same for you hon.. heres hopin so.. Hang in there,,it will get better.

15 hits in a day is off the charts, I can't even imagine that. 4 or 5 in 24 hrs is about max for me.
Think positive, hopefully you're in the peak of your cycle and this is as bad as it's gonna get. The end is near.

There comes a time when the days are really bad and you actually give up counting the number of attacks - that is me though. I have been down that road before and still do somedays but I never keep counting past eight or ten because it becomes too much to bear.

I am sorry that you did have that many though - can I ask you a few questions about them? Trying to help..

How long does each attack last? And how much time do you have between each one?

It sounds like everyone is right, give that indocin a try - couldnt hurt really and may be what you need..

Fifteen per day is extreme for ordinary clusters. Have you asked your doctor about CPH?

There was a time when going through a bad episode where I would get them every 2 hours...so I guess that would be 12.

But not like that anymore thank God..instead, I'm chronic! ;D

I agree with Shari- mine are always REALLY bad right before they are coming to an end (when I was episodic)...actually, I guess they are still like that because I have REALLY bad episodes amongst my chronic days, if that makes sense.

Yikes......If they are clusters, that's three times my norm. Most I ever had in a day was six. If you're lucky, you'll find they are not CH.

Wolfmom that's a lot of hits.When i'am in cycle i get
3-4 maybe 5 aday for the first 5 weeks than they start coming down 1-3 aday till the cycle ends in about 3-4 more weeks.

I think that 8 is about the most I have had in a 24 hour period. I feel for you.

I have had some PFD and Ns lately. I am hoping that the beast is getting as tired as I am and is ready to move on.

I am getting ready t oleave for my National Guard two week training on Sat. Hope the beast doesn't like the military and stays away :)

Like Russ and BobP, the most I have ever gotten was 8 per day and that is at peak, then they ramp back down and go away.

Oh my God.... I'm so sorry to hear the beast is hurting you so much... 8 is the most attacks I've ever had in one day - normally I get up to 5.
