Wendy, as for the nick "Anthem", it is sort of a long story, but I can give you the short version.. :)

1) I always held "Life" as the highest value (without it, none of this would matter would it? ;) )
2) I like the thought of "Universe" or Uni-(one)-verse-(song) (the universe=the one song)
3) Anthem can be defined as a "song of praise".

So in short, my meaning of 'Anthem' is basically a combination of the above three thoughts.. something like this: a song in praise of life, the universe, and everything (No, no Douglas Adams references!) :)

Because I read a book written by Primo Levi about his experience in Auschwitz (concentration camp) and that sentence impressed me soo much... :'(

Yes, I know who Primo Levi was, what Auschwitz was (my late mother-in-law was an Auschwitz survivor), and I've read the book many times , still don't understand why you use the quotation from it, thought it was an odd thing to put on this website as it is one of the bleakest things Levi ever wrote and felt,and he ultimately committed suicide, probably because of the things he experienced and felt.

Hi Wendy,
I am believer in God, and this sentence “If AUSCHWITZ did exist, so God wouldn't exist” by Levi impressed me.... sometimes, in life the people, making such experiences can loose faith in God, or on the other hand, increase it. We cannot judge such a sentence, but only think ever it and respect the pain he felt. This is what I think.

Thanks Zaira, I am just terribly curious about why people think and say what they do. I really didn't mean to sound critical Ree, and sorry if it sounded like that, I felt compelled to ask because it is an unusual quotation for anyone to use on this board from one of the most amazing men who ever lived.

Zaira, I was incredibly moved by the book and am glad you were too. I think everyone should read it once in their lives.
