Sorry, ya'll I haven't been around in a while, got laid off twice, been trying to get things back in order.

I am so pissed after 2 years pain free, the attacks are back.  Sorry I just need to vent because I'm having one right now.  This episode is during the day which makes it hard to work.  I used to get them at night.

Luckily the doctor will see me today.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Sorry to hear the beast is back Mike.
Vent all you want...we all do from time to time.
Good luck with the Dr. appt, hopefully you'll get relief.

2 yrs pain free is nice , i guess it gets to that point when you think they´ll not come back, mine hit me every year around feb im so hopeing to have longer than a year pain free,
sorry to hear that the beast is back, and i hope for you its a short cycle, take care.

boos2---sorry to read your HA's are back. Look on the bright side...you had 2 years pain free. Make it through this cyle and hopefully 2 years (or more) pain free.

Vent all you want; that is why we are here.  :D

First post ever. Went to the doc today thinking i was having another bout of pinkeye. Then he told me about cluster headaches. So i did some net checkin. Sure enough i got almost all the symptoms. Pain on one side, runny eye, one plugged nostril etc... this really did not make my day. Its 2pm, im at work, my eyes running. no pain at the moment... but now i have to wonder whats down the road. Does this last my whole life, when will it come back, is it going to get as bad as some others have described it. More than anything its been a nuisense, but i dont ever want it to get to the point of trying to 'crush' my skull like some others. God i really am starting to hate my life. Oh well, go to the doc tomorow for reevaluation and see what my next course of action is. Till then, i will sympathize with all of you as i drive home down the highway going 120, with crap flowing into my one good eye (20/600 vision). Guess ill check in on you tomorow.

Thanks for the support guys, I'm really having a hard time working.  Just sitting here gritting my teeth trying to bear through it.  No one ever seems to understand except for you guys and my wife (God love her, she is a gift).  The worst part of it is I'm out of Imitrex.  That is why I originally called my doctor.  She wants to check me out  to see if there is a reason they've started up again. I just started using this stuff and it works great.  I had some samples and used those but had to get another doc to call in a prescription over the weekend now that is gone because he wouldn't prescribe but 2.  Sorry I'm rambling now.

Shadowfax--no e-mail listed...Can you get someone to pick you up or take you home?  ??? I do not reccomend driving while in the midst of an attack.

I'm in Houston, I might just have to get my wife to pick me up.  I was hoping it would be gone by the time I had to drive.

I remeber when I was diagnosed, I drove to the doctor's office.  The doc was like,"How in the hell did you get here?"  They wouldn't let me leave for 3 hours.  My BP was dangerously high that time too.  Luckily my wife's office is just down the freeway.

Go home. No sense going through the pain at work; you can't concentrate anyway and do you really want to try to explain that "little" HA thing to yet another unsympathetic co-worker?

Thanks for your help yesterday.  Everything is MUCH better this morning.  Got my meds and now getting back to normal (whatever normal is).  Just still feel wiped out a little.  Boy, a bad one can just exhaust you :(  Once, again thanks for your suppport  :)

They sure can. It takes me dam near an entire day to recover and by then another one or two HA's have hit. Just know someone is always here to help.  All you need to do is vent, cry, or yell.

Hi Mike,

So sorry to hear the beast is back  :(....  About 6 yrs ago I was every year, the last 2 (now 3rd) cycle has been 2 yrs... which is good I guess (why is it ppl that don't have clusters tell me this is a 'Good' thing???)

Anyway, they have also changed somewhat, I too have been getting more during the day and also get them from stress during the day.  I guess I am able to get a better handle on them then the night ones?

Just thought it a coincidence that you too are 2 yrs and have more during the day.

BTW ~ this last cluster was actually 1-1/2 yrs ~ I was cheated out of 6 mos.

Another tidbit....  I am in a cluster right now, it has been at least 10 yrs since I was spring cycle.... hmmm

I am sorry to hear yours came back after so long. I am glad you took some of the advice and got home.

Hopefully your neuro can get you on a prevent regime that will help you through this cycle.

As Don says no ryhme or reason they just come and get us.

Good luck in fighting the beast.

Heres  to hoping you can get back to PFDAN soon.

Thanks for all the support guys.

Besides the verapamil and the imitrex, the doc put me back on prednisone because it seems to work last time.  Got plenty of imitrex this time too, hopefulley i won't be such a dummy and run out again.

Mike--Check your e-mail. Glad to read you are doing bettter. That Prednisone is good shit man. Be sure to taper off, though.

I caught that too and wondered WTF?  :o ::)   Is there something they're not telling us?   (Probably that they don't have any answers, or know what to look for, BUT they just don't want us to know that!  >:()

Hey Mike,

Sorry to hear you're getting hit again, but also glad to hear that it's settling down. I hate that feeling when a cycle is starting up, but I've learned to just push through it not let it get me down. (Although I have been known to get tired and crabby  :) )
