Title: Botox and Clusters Post by cluster0557 on Apr 11th, 2003, 11:58pm I have Clusters compounded by Hemicrania Continua. One of the Neuro;ogists I see says Botox will give me the relief I have been seeking for 18 months now at a cost of $400.00. My other Neurologist is unsure if it will help the Hemicrania Continua HA. Has anyone taken Botox for both or at least Cluster. I am sort of at wits end because most prevents I have tried have given me such bad side efects I am desperate for any good news that has minimal side effects. I can take droopy eye and numbness if it alleviates pain for 90-120 days. |

Title: Re: Botox and Clusters Post by cluster0557 on Apr 12th, 2003, 12:21am Oh well, I guess I am running out of prevent options. Kinda sucks but heck so do Clusters. Can't use Anti convulsants, Anti Depresants or Beta Channel Blockers. Really geeting limited here. Botox was a hope. A short lived one but a hope. Oh well Thanks again |

Title: Re: Botox and Clusters Post by Karla on Apr 12th, 2003, 7:21am I tried botox and didn't have much luck with it. I would try it if your insurance covers it. You will never know unless you try it and we are all different and react differently to meds. |

Title: Re: Botox and Clusters Post by cluster0557 on Apr 12th, 2003, 8:16pm I keep finding mixed information on Botox. It seems like most meds in our arsenal of crap we either find one that works or not. Most screw me up so it is abortive meds that are my only savings. Right now it appears that there is a 60/40 chance of it doing anything for anybody. With my track record I am in the 40% group. Sounds like another crap shoot. OBTW is nice to be back on this board. Been away for a while but is good to see the humor is still on the board. At least people can say what they feel on this board. Jonny and Opie have made the last day interesting ;D |
