Title: Do your Clusters Throb ???? Post by Sean_C on Apr 10th, 2003, 11:39am Hi guys, as a new family member, and veteran Clusterhead, my question is this........ Do your Clusters throb/pulsate @ kip 1-10, or just steady pain and pressure? I thought everybody's pain was an extreme shot gun blastin', knife piercin', eye rippin' throb like the BEAST in my head, but maybe not ? How would you describe your pain ??? Thanks for your help, hoping you all have pfdan. Sean |

Title: Re: Do your Clusters Throb ???? Post by Yet Another Mike on Apr 10th, 2003, 12:06pm no throbe here. just a steady stream of pain befor it dies down and goes away. |

Title: Re: Do your Clusters Throb ???? Post by CJohnson on Apr 10th, 2003, 12:06pm My pain will sometimes come down a notch for a couple of seconds, but then re-intensify. This may happen a couple of times, or not at all. I wouldn't call it throbbing, though. I would describe the pain as cruel and unrelenting. -Curtis |

Title: Re: Do your Clusters Throb ???? Post by Bob P on Apr 10th, 2003, 12:08pm From an article by Dr. Mendizable in the OUCH Library: "Pain is generally described as excruciating, penetrating, and non-throbbing. " No throbbing here, just one constant, searing pain. |

I call it waves with each wave progressively worse than the previous until it peaks. The wave recedes slightly but the next one is right behind hitting harder. The waves are the intensity of the hot poker in the eye pain that makes me scream. The harder the wave the more I scream and thrash and tear and cry... TomM |

Title: Re: Do your Clusters Throb ???? Post by Opus on Apr 10th, 2003, 4:43pm This is how my head pains work Your results may differ Clusters- steady pain, any change in pain level takes a minute. Pain gets immediately worse when you lay down. Migraine- Throbbing pain that increases then decreases with every heart beat. Pain immediately decreases after lying down. Sinus- Pain comes in slow waves with a peek to peek time of 30 to 60 seconds. Opus :P |
