An important programming note for folks who don't know: Mr and Mrs Fisher (the founders of the fisher houses that are near the military hospitals) died in a plane crash. Fisher house donations are especially important now that so many of the troops are needing their family close by.

Family Support Centers on any installation can always use donations of food, drink, and of course money. They provide $1 an hour day care for spouses of deployed troops as one of their many services, and this is often a volunteer FCC (family child care) provider that does it at after normal hours. This is a critical escape for a spouse who is alone with children for extended periods, I speak from experience.

Thanks for the great info. I donated tothe local VFW for phone cards, but did not know of the grocery deal. That is very needed I know. Thanks for the opportunity to get involved.

You can donate to army or airforce troops or individuals you know.
