Title: David Bloom, May he rest in peace Post by catlind on Apr 6th, 2003, 8:27am Sorry for posting this to the board - I know it doesn't have anything to do with CH. I just wanted to memorialize David Bloom somehow. I believe he was a pulitzer prize winning journalist. It's devastating news to hear that he has died. May his family find peace and love in the days ahead. He was without a doubt my favourite reporter. (Can't believe I speled pullitzer rong ::) ) |

Title: Re: David Bloom, May he rest in peace Post by Hound_Dogg on Apr 6th, 2003, 1:37pm He was the best!!! I would go to MSNBC every day to check him riding on the A.P.V doing his news feeds. He was a "trip". Even though it has nothing to do with C.H...They have reported him dying of a Pulmonary Embolism which can and is usually brought on by long periods of sitting or laying down...i.e. Long, Long plane trips and so on. So make sure to get up and move your legs every hour or so, when you will have to be sitting for long periods. Rest in Peace, David. |

Title: Re: David Bloom, May he rest in peace Post by TomM on Apr 7th, 2003, 10:17am He gave you the scoop w/o making it like People Magazine. Facts, issues, and heart. Pulmonary Embolism is caused by a blood clot blocking the pulmonary artery; usually, the clot is thrown from the legs. First symptom is leg pain, which Mr. Bloom reported he had that day. Next is falling over because you can't breathe. By that time, it's too late. Dammit! When I heard he called his wife and kids shortly before he died, I cried. Why does God take the good guys so young? TomM :'( |

Title: Re: David Bloom, May he rest in peace Post by Mikey on Apr 7th, 2003, 10:38am This is a real shame, leaving this world so young and leaving behind such a young family. I honestly believe he past away doing what he loved, and right there in the thick of it. The world, in my opinion, lost one of the very best. Him and His reporting, especially on this war, will be remembered forever. Rest in Peace David Bloom We will remember. Mikey, :'( |
