4 people registered!!! WTF? SHIT!!! Because of my present employment/financial situation, I'm about 95% sure I won't be coming. Reasons: - no $$$ - 50+ hrs each way driving time - not sure if I'll be working then. - IF I'm working, how do I ask for almost 2weeks off from a new job? - possible problems at the border (think I've got them worked out ;)) If I'm willing to try to make an effort like that to get there, what about you people that are closer, can afford a flight, don't need the better part of 2 weeks off work to drive? STAND UP and BE COUNTED!!! Do you really think someone notable/important... is going to go out of their way to talk to 4 people? THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!! >:( grant |

Title: Re: Interest in Convention Post by juvy on Apr 2nd, 2003, 7:27am Okay Don, i need further explanation...could be cuz at the moment i'm still a little drugged. The 75 dollars covers what? all in all.....how much do you thing this little outing is going to cost me.....(do not include airfaire) just the little weekend? I'll try really hard to find a way to stick it in my budget. Cheers, April |

Title: Re: Interest in Convention Post by Bob P on Apr 2nd, 2003, 8:38am The very first paragraph of the convention page: Registration Fee - $75US/person - Covers speaker sessions, hospitality suite, Saturday night banquet, welcome gifts, convention t-shirt. Registration forms will be available soon. You will pay for your accommodations and meals other than the banquet. For me it's $300 round trip air from California to Syracuse, car rental $30/day, resort $78/night, other meals and sightseeing $200, regiatration $75. Total about $900. |

Title: Re: Interest in Convention Post by catlind on Apr 2nd, 2003, 8:46am and *IF* we have more than 50 paid registrants, the room rates will go down as well. I will be able to take some of the registration funds and put them towards the overall room rates. So the more people that are there, the better all the way around. Again, and everyone is going to get sick of me saying this, and I don't care: THIS IS A PRIME OPPORTUNITY FOLKS. We have the biggest audience of drug companies, clinical trial doctors, headache organizations and doctors that we've ever had. It's time to show up at the convention, participate in the round table forum and tell them all in your own words what you see needing to be done to help the overall cause and your OWN cause!!!! This is not a convention that you will sit in the audience and be lectured to - you will be an active participant in discussions with the headache community from every field. Let me ask you this: If you could pay $900 for a weekend, and in return you got research and drugs SPECIFICALLY for the treatment of CH, insurance companies that gladly approve O2 and multiple immitrex prescriptions in a month, would it be worth it to you?? I dunno bout everyone, but I've seen several people paying huge gobs of money on prescriptions not covered for CH, maxxing out credit cards, and promising their first born to pay for their CH meds. Lets take FULL advantage of what's in front of us here! back off the soap box ;) Expect to hear me lecture alot over the next couple of months :) Cat |

Title: Re: Interest in Convention Post by Bob P on Apr 2nd, 2003, 11:52am I did have an offer to fly to Rochester and ride over with Drummer but he doesn't smell too good. I'm a little leary about spending much time in a car with him. It would save the car rental though. Actually, I'm planning on spending a week or two on the east coast, sight seeing. So my trip will be $2,000-$4,000. Geez! Maybe I should just do some trout fishing in the Sierra instead. |

Isn't there supposed to be water or a drainage ditch near this place? Maybe the "Barge" can be backed down into a mud flat or something......we can have a boarding plank and other cool Pirating Gear.......not to mention wonderful breeze driven afternoons on the Libido Deck....the only sounds being the soft pop of a beer opening, and the constant _sizzle_ of cigarettes going out as they hit the pristine aquifer below........... $75 - Registration $104 - Room, split 3 ways $50 - Gas $5 - Food .....but I'm bringing along 8 lbs of jerky ------------- $279 - subtotal $1975 - Beer and chicanery ------------- $2254 Coming home with good mammaries - Priceless According to the Elves.........Pennsylvania holds 50% of the current registrants.....followed only by Ca with the other 50%.
