Title: in the shade of the beast Post by rumplestiltskin on Mar 31st, 2003, 6:48pm When I got here I had no idea what they were talking about when they spoke of shadows or the low numbers on the kip scale. My CH always went from 0 to killer almost instantly. I'd get a metallic smell in my left nostril and within 5 minutes I was bangin the wall. BUTT...in the past couple years since I have been on Verapamil i get some classic "shadows"and low grade CH before i hit the o2 and/or my drugs and abort them. I consider myself EXTREMELY fortunate to be managing the pain this way. Search "shadows"...sorry i gotta go. walk in the sunshine den |

Title: Re: What are shadows Post by don on Mar 31st, 2003, 7:37pm If ever hope to manage your CH you will have to research, research, research. To the left of this site are numerous link buttons. The very first one "new visitors" has a very good description of a shadow. |

Title: Re: What are shadows Post by juvy on Mar 31st, 2003, 9:50pm I have CPH and i have a different defination of a shadow. to me a shadow is a reminder of the pain that will surely over take my head once more. It's not enough to start taking treatment but it likes to appear when i've completely forgotten i've got CPH...life is great...then Wham, it lasts maybe 2 seconds, but it clearly states: "Don't get too happy Bitch, cuz I'm still here, and i can make you cry like a baby." when the shadows increase it means i'm going to get hit and hard. all in all the shadows keep me from taking PFDAN for granted. Cheers, April |

Title: Re: What are shadows Post by fubar on Mar 31st, 2003, 10:58pm April, It always goes something like that for me... the voice: "BWAHAHAHHAHAahahahaha.....Guess what? I'm back, and remember how much fun we used to have?!!! It's almost time! I'm going to make you cry like a little girl and you can't do nuthin to stop me. HAHAHAHAHAhahahaa. Fasten your seat belts, and keep all your limbs flailing about in a futile attempt to find relief. Remember the bruises? We got plenty new beauties to show ya. You're all mine baby. We gotta make up for lost time now. You know that important 'do-or-die project your working on now... just imagine how much fun it's going to be trying to complete it! And forget about the kids homework... screw em! Oh and all that sleep you've been getting really pisses me off, we're gonna have to curtail that a bit, how about we be nice and let you have about 1 1/2 maybe 2 hours a night. That way, my grip is nice and tight. Another thing, I am sick and tired of you surviving this torture. I'm gonna squeeze the fuckin life outta ya this time, I swear it." Only thing is, that all goes through my mind in about a nanosecond. The horror of it does not fade. At least I haven't heard that voice with that speech for a long time. I guess there really is an upside to going chronic? :( -Fu |
