Title: POW news
Post by BobG on Mar 25th, 2003, 2:38pm
I just saw on CNN the story of American pilot and POW Ron Young.

At his home in Georgia someone stopped by and gave his family a POW flag. Then prisoners from the County jail put a a flag pole for the family to fly their new flag.

THAT'S WHAT AMERICA IS ALL ABOUT!

I hope they don't have to fly that flag for very long.

Nice gesture on the part of the county jail residents and the person who dropped the flag off.

Yeah, those Georgia folks treat their soldiers really great...when Stephen was deployed from his unit in Georgia, they had a breakfast, a prayer meeting and a parade for them...as the buses left, all the business shut down..in fact, they shut down two hours earlier as the buses were late, and folks stood out in the rain for two hours to wait till they left...every school had the kids standing out front of the school and the parade went by each school...the kids had flags and were waving and crying ...it was the most touching thing I have ever experienced in my life...God bless Georgia...smiles, nancyc

Nancy that is a VERY touching story indeed. It has brought tears to my eyes. I feel lucky that my son finished his time in the army when he did but most of his unit that he left behind has all been deployed and I sense he feels a bit guilty for that and in some ways wishes he could be with them.
I am not very religious but I have found myself praying so much lately. The faces of these young men and woman (POWS) on tv break my heart and I cry everytime I see them.
I heard nyc has jets protecting our skies and I hear them and helicopters constantly going over my roof. Its all very eerie, reminds me so much of sept. 11.
Well I dont usually ramble on so much but feels good to get ya feelings out sometimes.

suzy
