Title: Coalition
Post by WendyHowe on Mar 21st, 2003, 9:05pm
Dear clued-up ones. Please help with info. I am confused and can't find the answer on the news

The Russians and the French are claiming that the coalition forces described by Bush are an invention of TB and GB to suggest that they are being supported by other countries when they are not and that this coalition does not really exist.

WHICH COUNTRIES ARE ACTUALLY INVOLVED IN THE COALITION

I know the good old Aussies are, but then again they always seem to waded in with the Brits in past conflicts

Wendy

P.S. Sorry, should have said first that I am very saddened that the first British and American casualties were down to an accident. This must be very hard for the parents.

The Pentagon published its membership list Friday for the ``Coalition for the Immediate Disarmament of Iraq.''

Mark

Thank you very much indeed.  What an excellent article. What a very interesting list. I am quite shocked by some of those countries and the absence of some others.
Good old Mongolia I say. Bless them, they could probably give us a few good horses!

I suppose what Russia and France mean is that almost no-one is supplying troops/arms etc.

Excellent article Mark.

Add to the list the Czech Republic.  They are providing a decontamination unit that is capable of processing 2500 soldiers an hour and 500 vehicles an hour in the event of a chemical or biological attack.

My source for this is the Air Force Times.

Russia sells Iraq all kinds of stuff. Not too sure what they expect to sell after we enter Baghdad.

France and Germany both sold stuff but at least Gerhard Shroeder has lately kept his mouth pretty much shut. The poor dope won election on a peace platform, I believe.

Thanks Mark, been looking for that info.  You always manage to find all the good stuff...... ;).

Wonder who's going to be in charge of construction contracts after the fact.  Maybe France could be awarded the contract for building a f**king brain.

Needless to say, my wine cellar now contains no French wine.  Although, I have to admit I drank it all real fast rather than dump it.  Australian, Spanish and Italian wines are pretty damn good.

Add to the list Hungary please.
We have no money. We have no trained soldiers. But:

(Several hundred U.S. Army trainers would begin setting up a specialized training program at Taszar Air Base in Hungary for members of the Iraqi opposition who have volunteered for possible action in Iraq.)

I'm sorry. It's all what can we do.
