Title: Exercise.. Trigger??
Post by H2odiver on Mar 2nd, 2003, 11:15pm
I have always tried not to exert myself too much during an episode, fearing that if I elevated my heart rate it would trigger a CH.But I have read some posts to the contrary. Seeing that I wont be doing any drinking  8) for the next 2 months I was considering some weight lifting. Is it wise to try or am I tempting the beast ?

Excersize is good. Try it at the first sighn of an attack and you will find it helps. Repetitive and vigorous  excersize is best.

Some articles say that routine exercise may trigger an attack.

Some find that short, streneous exercise at the first sign of an attack will abort it.

Two different kinds of exercise.

For me, when I used to do my bigtime cardio workout, I could pretty much set my watch to getting a CH 2 hours later.  Is it a trigger?  I don't know, it may be that I would have gotten it at that time anyway.  Back then I didn't know anything about CH or what I was suffering from.  Nowadays, I still do some upper-body weight exercise and it doesn't seem to effect my CH.

Exercise always seemed to trigger an attack.
So now whenever I get the urge to exercise I lay down until it passes.
