Title: Losing Family
Post by Hound_Dogg on Jan 22nd, 2003, 9:40am
My sister died yesterday morning at 6:15 am. We had some silly argument around two years ago. You know...the kind that neither one can remember exactly what they were originally mad at. We've only talked twice in those years. First call, she told me that her sickness was kicked and that she would be fine. The second time she apologized for the stupid argument we had. The last call was over 2 months ago. You know how it goes...you never have the time to call. Too busy at work. Too busy at home. Even though she lived less then 50 miles from me, I have not seen her for those two years.
Tuesday morning at around 2am I got the call from my brother. "Sis is really sick and they don't think she'll last through the night." "Whattaya mean...really sick. I thought she was fine." I guess a lot can happen in two months.
I got to the hospital about 3am. Stayed with her to the end which was about 6:15am. She was in a lot of pain and completely out of it. I console myself with the fact that she knew I was there.
I will never, ever be to busy to call my family, again.

Hound dogg

So terribly sorry to hear of your loss.  I'm ashamed of being so wrapped up in my own pain today when you are truly the one hurting.

Your sister knows how you feel, she is at peace with your relationship, you were with her when it counted and she knew it before she died and knows it now.

We're here for you

Sharon

Very sorry to hear of your loss, Hound Dogg.  Way too many of our cluster family is losing family these days.  :(

Celebrate your sister's life, don't beat yourself up for things you can't change.  Find solace that she is out of pain now and has found peace.

We are here for you and wish you and your family comfort.

Hugs

Really, really sorry to hear of your loss

"I will never, ever be to busy to call my family, again. "

I just hope that we can learn something in that last line in your thread.
You was lucky to get there in time.
If not ,i think you have blamed yourself for the rest of your life.

Just remember that your sis never leave you,but she is in your heart and in heaven as a angel guarding you always

Dogg,

I am so very sorry for your loss.  Regrets will get you no where.  Celebrate her life, and remember the fun times as kids together.  I think any of us who have lost a loved one, realizes we have regrets, I will always regret not braving a snow storm to go see my dad, then he died 2 weeks later.  The thing is though, even I had gone, I wouldn't have said the things I'd want to say, I wouldn't have known, so don't beat yourself up over the time and the quarrel.  Just remember the love and keep her alive in your heart.

You have my sincerest sympathies.

Cat

Hound Dogg,

I am so sorry for your loss.  She knew you were there with her, and that is what matters.  You may have argued, but she knew you loved her.

I'd give a lot if this thread were not here. But it is and I know you'll do things right and what's necessary.  :-[

We've all been there in one way or another.   :-[

Awfully sorry.
