This message board is great! I love it! You can tell people what is going on and all will comfort you.

This past summer I had the worst CH's I have ever had in 10 years. I found the board and I found understanding and comfort. When I was able to get down stairs to turn on my pc, I found many E's from you wishing and hoping that the "monster" would soon leave. That really kept me going. I want to thank you all. The thing is, these messages were from you! Not from the message board. It was personel (I hope I spelled it right). That's why it made it so special. It was from you. In person.

What I don't get is, why do people send a message on our board and hide there E address? Do they think we are going to keep on E'ing them days on in? I think not.

I so wanted to E-mail booboo about her husband without the whole word knowing about it. But I couldn't. I know what my wife and daughter went through when I had these head aches. I just wanted to tell her. I wanted to give her support and to let her know what her husband feels, besides the pain. Let her know that his pain is just as much, if not more towards his family. The people that love and care for him. The suffering that he is putting his family through is worse than the pain he is suffering. OMG!! Will this pain ever stop!!!! OMG!!!! OMG!!!!! Oh GOD!

Well, I just wanted to let off some steam. If I am right, I am sure you will tell me. If I am wrong, I am sure I will hear about it.

Again, thanks to all of you who sent me E's when I needed them. You have no idea how much it helped.
And thanks to all of you who wrote to me on the board.

I guess everyone has their reasons. Some are afraid of Viruses some say they don't like email, who knows?

I am like you I like things to be on a more personal note and would like to email when I get a chance. There are a lot of Lurkers and I get email from some of them. I think a lot of people miss out on a lot when they don't post some kind of email address.

Hi Bob,

That hidden email thing can get frustrating. One tool that useful on this MB is the Private Message function. Just click on the persons name, and the next window will have a place for youto send a PM.

Many people chose to hide their email addresses for the same reason they dont publish their phone numbers.

And like you said, this MB is awesome.

The only reason I DONT hide my E-mail address is cause im hoping that I get some hate mail, but it never comes :'(

The reason I have mine hidden these past few weeks is all the virus warnings coming out of the puter are attatched to mails coming from our lovely board... Every couple of months I hide my email but give it out in posts here... I know if the virus devil is gonna get me then I am a sitting duck...just checking to see if it helps me to hide it for a few weeks... ree

The reason I hide my address is 'cos I'm sick of my e-mail being harvested from sites I visit (by unscrupulous hackers) and used to send me spam about american teen porn sites, pillls from the USA to make my donger grow bigger (and I'm a female - honest! :o) and offers to allow me to remortgage with an american company (unlikely to happen even if I wanted to as I live in the UK!). ???

So, them's the reasons I hide my e-mail address on all sites I visit these days - even this one, as much as I love it! :'(

I'm 100% with you on the Email thing. Should be a required field on here. Don't want your primary Email listed? No worries.....get a Hotmail or Yahoo address. Just make sure and check the danged thing. Hidden Emails, unlisted phone numbers, screened calls, drapes closed 24/7...Sheesh! Go move into a cave and pile a bunch of rocks up in the entrance.........
Virus problems are best solved one way: Virus scanners, with updated definition files. Hiding your Email won't protect you, especially since 95% of all virus infections will unwittingly come from friends that haven't been using Virus scanners. The VERY FIRST entry in your Email address book should be !!!!!@!!!.com If you get a virus, and it's sending things out w/o your knowledge, !!!!!@!!!.com will bounce back in your face as undeliverable, and you'll know you'ge caught a cold. EOF
The PM utility here is a fine option, except that most of the time the board runs slower than molasses in January. Trying to leave 3 PM's can take an eternity, and then you have to hope the recipient notices there's a new note in the inbox.
On Spam: don't know about _YOUR_ keyboard, but mine has a really neat button marked DEL. I can get rid of unwanted goop faster than I can read it or it can be downloaded. No huhu.........
Afraid of being "Stalked" on the net? Any stalker can be traced. You have a lot better chance of being mugged on the way to the supermarket, anyhow.
Communication is the key to this board, as well as the net. It's not for the faint of heart. Properly aware and protected, one can readily climb onto the roof of their trailer and yell "Here I Am" w/o a second thought......
