I took my son on his 21st to his favorite restaurant and then I had arranged for him and 3 of his buddies to go to the local topless joint after. Gave them all a bunch of singles and told them to have fun. One of the guys was the designated driver. I was invited but thought it wouldn' be too hot an idea going to a topless bar with my son!!! My son had a great time and his friends thought his Mom was pretty cool..............they won't show me the pictures though! Chris L |

In England I guess the 21st is considered the big b'day, so I got a TV and $100. If she has a boyfriend or a best friend you could arrange for a limo to take them out to dinner and a club or you could take her and a few of her friends to a ski place and go snowboarding, or tubing or skiing, or you could just tell her it's her day and that she doesn't have to do anything and you'll let her be queen for a day Just some ideas, most of em dorky hehe Cat |

I try to get the whole bar in on helping celebrate the birthday ..try to make it a memorable evening :) take a cab or limo then you can party all you want (if you have a cool bartender) and get home ok. Ohh and REMEMBER drink lots of water with your alcohol then you'll help kill any hangover...also don't forget to eat. Hope it's fun...I made a scrapbook for my son...he just turned 21 on halloween. He is in the Air Force so I missed out on it *sort of* Rain |

Unfortunately we live 3 hrs. from any spa, limo service...well, basicallly anything fun. I've let her drink since she turned 18, if she's with us, but, we do have some bars here--not many, but a few. Thought about taking her out of town, but she works, and can't get off. She's not really a jewelry person...kinda like me. I asked for a bulldozer for Christmas...got jewelry instead. Hope she's braver with tattoos. I TRIED to get one in Taos one time. Soberd up as soon as they stuck me. Big chicken. R |

Post by cootie on Dec 29th, 2002, 3:27pm Go to the tatt parlor first.....then go drinkin and dinner deal.....yer own town is cool and suma them small places are a hoot when blasted esp if ya can't go far cuz of her work deal and they got good food to . My girlfriend has been doin tatts fer 20 yrs and they are very strict and wont' even let a minor set foot in the store(small redneck town) There strict with drinkin and gettin a tatt too....I think they hurt more if yer drunk anyhow. I always take two advils before I got my art work goin .....takes the sting out big time.....take em least 15 ta 20 minutes b-4 they start. I fergot once on a big back piece and YEOW....felt more sting. Onea my first tatt's was a rose on my hand....bad bad bad.....was in my girlfreinds weddin with this big floral dress on....puffy with huge flowers like curtains do.....with my arm done and the flower dress I look like the bouquett !!!! A tatt will be a real rememerable deal that will stay with her ferever..kinda cool !! Pam |

Oh maaaaaaaaaannn.....we snuck out the back door and went to anuther party and I changed in the truck !!!!! The weddin pics make me cringe !!!!!! Pam :P |

Post by RobinT on Dec 29th, 2002, 5:03pm so you get them drunk and they hate you the next day...nah a tat is a great idea. i always wanted one but my mom was so against it.....won't tell you how old i was when i finally got my nerve....(b4 CH's). i agree, a tat is like a flea bit vs a CH> you are a cool mom... went for the upper thigh....ouch.....has nuthin' to do with meat vs bone....try muscle. my second one is on my shoulder and didn't hurt a bit. the reason you shouldn't get a tat after heavy drinking is that alcohol thins the blood and you will bleed much more (this means more scabbing) for men...nothing sexier than a forearm tattoo :o |

I got my first tattoo with a jail house gun. It is a yin yang. Got my second in November (when they stayed here for a month) it is an evil looking sun (kind of appropriate for Arizona!) They are on the insides of my wrists. Everyone says when they see them "Boy I bet that hurt!!" Actually, didn't hurt all that bad for me... guess the CH is good for something! (Although I wasn't in cycle either time) But they tell me it hurts a lot worse if you are drunk. I don't know, but I sure wouldn't want my memory of my 21st ending up with either a prayer to the porcelain god or a hangover! (I can't remember what I did for my 21st, but I know I didn't get drunk! LOL) I like the tattoo idea, and the "day of pampering" That can be done even if there isn't a spa around. The guys thing is good too, especially if you could see the "Florida Physical Attraction" They were absolutely fantastic! My husband paid for me and some friends to go see them once and boy o boy! Hot stuff! WAY better than the Chippendales road show! (which I saw with my husbands gay cousin! LOL Try being with the ONLY male in an audience of all females! Let your daughter choose her own. Something that reflects the inner "her". The people who draw tattoo art are called "flash artist" the art itself is "flash". Many parlors have flash artist there. They can create something new for you, you can take a magazine in, or you can sketch something and let them draw it to your satisfaction. If you don't like it, don't do it. It's your bod. Do the dinner and a movie first. That way your both relaxed and if she gets sick at her stomach during the tat at least she has something to heave! Michael |
