Title: more bad news Post by Karla on Dec 16th, 2002, 7:10pm I just found out from my back surgeon today that he thinks my left leg will be permitetly paralized and useless. He has put me in physical therapy but isn't optimistic about anything. Just more crap I didn't need dumped on me. I can't dress myself, I can't go to the bathroom myself, I am in a real mess. Those that pray, please do, I find myself pretty down right now as far as depression goes. Love, Karla |

If you aren't a prayer, I will give you the opportunity to scroll past the rest of this post as it will offend you. Here it goes... Father, I praise your name today for the many blessings you have continued to give me even though I am not worthy. I thank you for the family you have given me, for the health you have given me, for the job, and the home, and for everything that I take for granted day in and day out. Father, most of all, I thank you for the salvation you have provided for me through your Son, Jesus Christ. Father, I know that even though I am not perfect, you hear my prayers because of my relationship with your Son, Jesus. I ask now, as your son to hear my prayer and honor the promises you have made in your Holy Word. I pray Father that you would encourage my sister. Father I pray that you would give her the peace of your Holy Spirit. I pray that you would bind any spirit that oppresses her. I pray that she, even now would not only feel the answer to this prayer, but the encouragement of all of us other sufferers as well. Father, I do not know the reason for Karla's sickness, but I know that your Word promises that all things work for the good for those who love you and are called according to your purposes. I ask you Lord to provide comfort, peace, and yes healing if it is your will. If healing is not your will Father, I pray for your wisdom on her behalf. Use this situation, Father to show Karla just how in control you are. Lord we desire to glorify you and ask this in Jesus' mighty name. Amen. Karla, I hope you feel encouraged my dear sister. :) |

Regeneration is a miraculous thing, but not so miraculous that it never happens, it DOES! Visualize, visualize, then visualize some more. There is so much that is unknown about the “body/brain” connection. See your self walking normally, see yourself using that leg. I’m sure that you will, in therapy, get on one of those machines that exercises your leg for you, and no matter how much it hurts, you must do it. Do not let those leg muscles atrophy; you will need them when your leg ceases to be paralyzed. Walk with God, David J. |

I have had the fortuanateness to realize today that the right three little toes which have been fine through the whole ordeal and to two weeks post op have suddenly turned up numb. My dr. says not to worry about it unless it gets worse. Right! Easy for him to say. I didn't worry about my left foot until It got worse and now he is telling me I may have perminent paralasys on my leg/left foot. I can't afford to not worry about my right foot. Extra prayers guys. I do not like this feeling of powerlessness and helplessness that I have right now. It sucks and I want off the ride! However, I had the occupational person stop buy today. She thinks that they can in two weeks convert my bathroom over so I can bath my self and go the the bathroom unassisted again. However, that is all based on the fact I have a good right foot around. Well see. |

It sounds as if you will have plenty of good will supporting you through this, so make use of it. Think of the good, and think of the prayers, and LAUGH.
