I got a new prescription of inderal today due to the amount of Maxalt I've been using. Has anyone had any luck with using Beta Blockers?

Tried it about 20 years ago and it didn't do squat for me...others have had some luck though.

Al,

I tried propanyl (spelling?) and Inderal for a couple of months...didn't do squat except drove my bloodpressure so low that the doctor couldn't read my pulse! I found the calcium channel blockers work better for me (Verapamil).

GP prescribed for me the beta-blockers for a while, and they didn't do squat.

Beta blockers - migraines

Calcium channel blockers - clusters

Although some have had some success with the BBs.

Inderal, after a few days worked wonders for me. It seems to work for a few of us but not many. I was episodic and have been in remission for a long time.

Give Inderal or Propranolol a chance. Can't hurt.

Last year, the first time using Inderal, worked great for me. This year however, it did absolutely nothing for me, guess I will try something new next time.
