Post by Mark C on Dec 5th, 2002, 11:34am Dell 8200 with P/4 @ 1.9 with XP Pro 400mhz FSB 80 gig 7200 rpm HD CD-R & DVD (not R yet :) ) 5.1 250 watt surround HP scanJet & Epson printers (2) one is an old AP-2250! Dot Matrix that only prints in one direction...very loud :) 19" Dell P991 Monitor and connected with BellSouth DSL Got this system in Feb. and have been very happy. It has an Antec Full tower chassis with 2 30Gb drives, windows 98SE, 386Mb PC133 RAM, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card, ATI RADEON 64MB DDR Video card, Intel Network Adapter with DSL, Samsung DVD/CDRW combo Drive, Kenwood 72X CD-Rom, Epson Stylus Color 760 Printer, Logitech video camera, Memory Card Reader, and then I also do sound recording so I have a recording studio setup attached. |

(these were arcade style games like galaxian, space invaders, etc.) Looking back, this was certainly the source of my clusters. I used to use write my programs directly to floppy with a utility called superzap. It was pretty simple to create a null-length file, and simply keep extending it as your code grew. This meant I was translating assembly into hexadecimal in my head on the fly... I swear, I'd go to sleep at night stumped with a problematic routine, and all night long I'd dream different ways to alter the program, compile it and continue to be frustrated (in the dream). Then, also in the dream, I'd write the correct code, compile it and BANG, it worked. Right then, I'd jump up from the sleep, run to the trusty trash-80 and, sure enough, it would work. This always amazed me. If I only I could figure out how to use this noodle when I was awake... -Fu |

Anyway, I'm running a modest self built system: 17" HP monitor, 2 Hd's one 20 gig and the other 10, 52xCD-Rom, 32x creative CD-RW, and powred by a sweet Amd K6 prcessor on a Biotech motherboard and a voodoo 5 video card at about 400 ghtz, Contained in an ATX case, on InsightBB Broadband. but My software capabilites are the Shit ,so much multimedia stuff I can hardly contain myself. 8) Thats the "Master" system My "Slave" system is currently In need of a new video card and HD and has been down for over a year, anyone got some spare parts? go ahead and buy your new $2000 computers I built mine for about $600. Got Norton 2003 but it can take several minutes or longer ta scan mail so I can recieve it...that's if it don't 'stick' 'n jus sit there ferever and I gotta shut mail down and disconnect and start over sometimes 2 ta 4 times. How do you guys gets them finangled pics to show up in posts.....I've tried copy 'n paste...can't figur it out.......guess I ain't to smart....but I do know my shoe size !!! |
