Title: California Update Post by marty on Nov 23rd, 2002, 12:17pm The response to starting a California Chapter of OUCH is great. We have recieved about 40 E-Mails, all positive and supportive of the idea. 15 of the CH'r responding, will attend the meeting in Ventura on December 8, 2002. This is really good and it is going to be fun and if any of y'all (like jonny) are in the area, please come see us, get some ideas and start a group in your own (how did Bob put if?? backwater.. something ;D) State(s) We will keep you updated Marty |

Title: Re: California Update Post by domm on Nov 23rd, 2002, 4:44pm Marty - just a suggestion. Take a look through the guest book and email some of those from the area and invite them. Lots of folks in there that never make it to the MB. Just a thought and I'm really glad you're doing this. Keep us posted. domm |

I always worry about those who never find a message board like this. According to statistics, a city the size of Simi Valley, CA (110,000) ought to have about 75 clusterheads. I know four (including myself) who have visited this site. What do the other 71 do for support? |

Title: Re: California Update Post by marty on Nov 26th, 2002, 2:31pm Frank.. That will be one of our main functions.. to locate sufferers and let them know that we exist - in fact, we will bring it one step further in providing a contact base for them, a one-on-one, personal contact. Just imagin, if this can be done.. today there might be 100 active members in California (by active, I mean people that are involved and care for others that are dealing with CH) - by this time next year, there might be 200, the next year 300 then 400 and so on. We are needed, both as supporters and spokes-persons by talking to our Dr's and asking them to refer sufferers to us for additional support, spreading written information at Pharmacies, Hospitals, to the HR Departments where we work etc. Remember that those of us that are "fortunate" enough to be "episodic" can automatically go into a "supporters" role when we cycle out.
