OK.... some of you know that I am (WAS) in remission from 5 years (GOD! 4 years and 11 months,,,,)

Three days ago the Beast is returned!!! Nice that we can forget the pain (also after 5 years) and we "identify" immediately our old "friend".

This time it was "nice", She has given me 2 attacks UNDER KIP 6, and two KIP 8. Just to celebrate the return..... my attacks has been ALWAYS at 10, as many of you know.

NowI have to wait for my usual 3/4 months with 4 attacks a day..... (I hope that the Beast will not ask for the ..... debits of 4 years!!! )

On the other hand...... how can the President of OUCH Italia be pain free?!? Is not legal! ;D ;D

Hi Riccardo- I'm A Newbie to the MB, I wanted to let you know of my recent visit from the Beast. Like you I
went about five yrs. in remission Only to have another
Attack in early October, I found this time around, The HA
was much milder than in the past and the duration very
short. Unlike the HA in the past yrs.

If you could maybe you can post how this cycle goes for you. Hope this cycle will be short and Bearable for you.

Very sorry to hear this Riccardo, hope are able to put him back in his place. Were you doing/taking anything during the last five years that may have contributed to such a long remission? Are you thinking about giving Aricept a try?

It really sucks when you know it's back. It's just unbelievable at first to think it is. I'm sorry. :'(

I do pray the cycle will be mild and if you take meds they work to keep you PF..

Thank you all, my friends.

I started with 480mg of Verap and on Monday I start the first "try" with paroxetine, according with a neuro that's also an OUCH Italia member. After a week, if paroxetine won't function, I'll try with the Aricept.
These 2 chances will be monitored, so we'll can add some knowledge to these two things.

This one seems milder (no, Don... not Mildred.. ;D) than any other I have had. My (now) 5 attacks did not passed the KIP 7 (so I cannot try Imigran, if this time works for me...)

Svenn.... an Italian writer called his cancer "his deepest friend". There is a light of truth in this. It seems to me a rejoin...... but I'm almost ...."awake" to catch the bad side..... pizza is not so heavy... ;D

Sorry to hear the Beast has returned to you after such a long time Riccardo. I had the same thing happen a couple of years ago and just recently had a 3 week break and now they're back again. Hang in there - maybe that won't be as bad this time, since you;re getting some mercy at the beginning... Best wishes.

Why this is sad.

After 5 years you remembered the idea of the pain but not the actual reality of the pain. Now you have to remember it intimately.

Remembering the idea of the pain and not the actual pain you got to keep the appearance of the even temper and when one of us got short with another, in part from lack of sleep and tired of battling, you would sit there and let us know it was uncalled for. Now, with you spending time losing sleep and being frustrated by the pain, I worry you too might be less patient than normal and not keep us in check.

You were doing so well.

You won't be making any other Italian Cowboy songs for us anytime soon.

It just sucks. You were another one of our hopes of jumping over the wall.

Fuck titties, bastard. Or however "FOTTITI BASTARDA" is pronounced. :-)

Hi! I was also 5 years pain free and they returned. I was hoping they were gone for good-but then they started sneaking up on me again. At first I thought I was dreaming it because it was just a small jab...but the frequency and intensity kept building. I was lucky-what worked last time, worked again so it was a short hell period. I am still on the medication because every 2 weeks, I'll get a jolt-not over a 4 or so-just enough to wake me up and remind me I am not in charge. I wait until I am 4-6 weeks PF and then wean off the pills. I will then pray for another 5 year reprieve.

Scary. Makes me wonder whether any of the meds or other substances we put into our body actually do anything at all. Maybe the beast just comes and goes and there ain't nothin' anyone can do about it. Makes you think.... I've been off meds for over a year. Nothing except shrooms, which I'd rather take than any man made chemical crap. My liver agrees too...

Domm.... absolutely pain free!!!!
I'm getting frequent shadows, but just one (KIP 7 ) attack during the week. (I skipped about 3 dozens of attacks!!!)

Tomorrow I start to taper to 10 mg, and in a week I will be out of the effects.

Just an update....
from 2 days I have tapered the Paxil to 10mg/day.

Any of two days I have had an attack (KIP 7) in the afternoon.

If this will continue I will rise again to 20....

Anyway I am considerably happy.... A KIP 7 per day against my usual 4 attacks (KIP 10) per day.... is a good chance.....

And I agree with eyes_a_fire....... seems that PAxil gives the same Serotonin shock of shrooms......

I also have to say that I am very "responsive" to "psichomeds" ....... any fourth of a little sleeping pill le me groggy for 24 hours (really!) .... may be also this

P.S. ... talking about the side effects.... please ... don't call me as the Italian Stallion..... just swap in to Italian MULE......... I am experiencing a big lack of..... hmmmmmm ....hard thoughts...... ;D

Hey Riccardo. Sorry to hear the beast paid you a short visit. Found it funny that you are on paxil to stop the beast. My first visit from the beast started within a month of me going on and off paxil (made me way too happy so I only took it for a month). Makes me wonder if I stay away from those serotonin drugs if I will never see another cluster in my life. Wow, that would be great .... and I am holding on to that thought all through my pain free days and nights !!! Four months of hell that I never want to repeat in this lifetime !!!!
