Title: Nerve damage & Cluster Post by thvannoy on Nov 20th, 2002, 8:36pm I am a 42 year old female w/ clusters since 18 years old. I have sleap apnea, ADD and reflux. I am trying to find out if my med problems are related to my headaches. It would seem that the severe pain would somehow cause nerve damage to the peripheal region and the nerves in the peripheal region control other parts of the body. Any comments would be apreciated.. |

Title: Re: Nerve damage & Cluster Post by Charlie on Nov 21st, 2002, 3:15am Welcome to bedlam and stick around. You'll find lots of replies by tomorrow. My CH began about 10 years after I had been taking Dilantin and Phenobarbitol. The dose hadn't changed and neither did my seizures. I'm fairly sure my drugs my Ch were not related. Glad you found us and if you look around, you'll find something to help in some fashion. You'll also find lots of goofiness. It's a release for many Keep in touch, we're here for ya. Charlie |

Title: Re: Nerve damage & Cluster Post by Bob P on Nov 21st, 2002, 8:30am I have seen no medical research showing that CH causes any kind of physical damage. I am a perfect physical and mental specimen. I just have clusters. |

Title: Re: Nerve damage & Cluster Post by Hound_Dogg on Nov 21st, 2002, 10:19am I know that some sort of conditions and severe pain itself can cause either referred pain (Pain felt in other areas of the body other then from the location of its organic cause), or neuropathic pain. Severe pain can also cause fibromyalgia and Lupus. However, I have never experienced myself or heard or read where CH can lead to this type of syndrome. Anyone? Jim |

Title: Re: Nerve damage & Cluster Post by eyes_afire on Nov 21st, 2002, 7:52pm NicholasD: I know that eye-twitch is not normally associated with cluster headaches, but during my cycles my left eye twitches (my cluster eye, especially at the peak of the cycle it twitches and burns furiously). When the cycle is over, the twitch is gone. Why? I don't know ??? |
