I know this may sound odd asking since I've only posted twice and know one know's me but this is getting out of hand,I havn't worked in over a week because of this cycle and I'm losing all kind's of money,
(self employed Carpenter)
I was just curious if anyone out there knows of any good work from home job's out there that are legit and can draw good money,. Yes I am serious asking this question and some may think it takes some nerve since I am new here,but I have to do what I have to do regardless of what anyone thinks,Please if anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

Chill out, Matt.......This board is here for the very reason your using it. Not knowing you has nothing to do with anything, how are we suppose to get to know you if you dont speak up.....LOL

If your self employed cant you ride out a HA and then get back to work?.....You are the boss.

Ive been chronic for 27 yrs and in the last 18 I owned two companies, right now I own a custom welding buisness and if I get hit and my meds fail I ride it out in my office and then get back to work.

Sorry, I have no info on home working unless your really good with a puter and design.

I am a one man gang and if it is possible to go back to work I do,but this cycle so far isn't allowing that,,Trex injection leave me thrashed and plenty of shadows.When you work in a 30,000 sq.ft building that is being built imagine all the machines and noise and power tools screaming,not to smart for me to be using those tools either at that time.No offence but can't just put my torch down and go in my office,my office is my home so that don't fly,,,I'm not trying to be a prick but I'm looking for possible help not a response to ride it out and go back to work,it's different for all of us I'm sure you know,we all have the same problem but everyone wear's a different pair of boot's if you know what I mean. ???

I work from home as an outside contractor. I am in the private aviation industry which is a fairly specialized field however is there any kind of consulting in your field that you could do?Sales? Operations? etc.

not self employed either but I subcontracted as a painter a while back....is it possible to get underlings to do the bulk of your work for you? May not be quite as cost effective but maybe it'll bring SOMETHING flowing back in.

just a guess DrkElf....
A friend of mine diagnosed with fibromyalgia another (unrelated) but very little known malady, which is ironically very hard to diagnose properly, recently applied for S.S. benefits.
Although it took her literally months possibly up to a full year to prove her illness and get through all the government red tape her goal was eventually achieved.
she stressed to me that it was quite the pain in the ass to accomplish but still possible. It may turn out that we will not find out until one of us succeeds or fails.
I imagine though that it can't hurt to try.

I did it and won, but on different circumstances with Menere's Syndrome. It wasnt that bad and I had documentation out the yin yang with two doctors taking me out on disability and one certifying me deaf. But I had precedent before of other cases. Those were the ones that took a year before they were approved. The first cases are the hardest. After that....

You're carpenter,
What about prefab, cabinets? Small shop at first...something you can handle. Do you live in near metro area? Go for display cases in malls, stores..etc.
If you're rough in in the past, you will have to retool and re think your cost, but you have the basics, just have to start lookin at the the smaller marks on the tape measure...32nd instead of the eighth inch... ;)

I was a sheet rocker for 15 years Matt, have a small shop of my own....hobby mostly...but plan to kick it loose this year and start some small stuff. I dont depend on it for a living thou... big difference. :)

Oh No...you guys do things wierd back there....snicker. I have heard the tales of how you al float all the joints with nothing to nail to....just teasin. Yeah sure, but you would probably have to prop me up as well as the sheet rock these days. ;D I doubt if I could even lift one end of 8 ft sheet much less the whole thing anymore. ;)

In september when I turned 40 I changed my profile to read 26, makes me feel good....LOL

As a carpenter I wonder if making the artsy craftsy stuff they sell at Hobby Lobby, Micheals, Walmart and the like would pay off. Seem like they are making pleanty off it. Getting in as a supplier would be the problem.

Jonny -- after finishing off my basement then I find out you are an expert mudder. I would have paid to fly you here to do it for me. You are dependable, these other yaahoo are such a pain in the ass. And pricy.

Something will work out for you Matt. For me -- I'm very good at turning big boards into little boards.

I would have done it, since I left that trade I have been doing drywall for people for free. I dont mind doing a room here and there, I love slinging mud......Not to blow my own horn but I am so good at it I love doing it if that makes any sence. It's like polishing metal now theres not a person within a thousand miles that can come close to me when it comes to putting a finnish on non-ferrious metal.

jonny - I won't argue that at all. I remember the before and after pics you had of what looked like a 4' high 6'" to 8" cylinder with a wedge cut out of it near the top. My guess was it was a deco light for the inside of a corporate lobby. (How far off base was I)

Ditto, I grumble a lot, but I dont mind doin it. I never did care much for tapin but hangin rock...gosh those were the best years of my life. I loved that white gold and was damn good at. I still hang a little for the church and friends and I dont charge anyone. My back has got me with arthrithis so I can't do much these days or if I do, I pay for it later. But just like a big dumbie, get me anywhere near a stack of rock and I start tearing tabs and droolin...chuckle. Sad state of affairs. ;D

BTW I never met a rocker yet that was'nt good at blowin his own horn.. LOL! (One mud slunger to another)
