Title: Southern Cal is backkkk! Post by Darkelf on Nov 18th, 2002, 6:52pm HI Everyone! Been a While...a whole two months...I think. :) Well, we are at the Neuro stage now, the Chs havent gone away so looks like we are going chronic. Been on Topamax now for a little over a month. Started with 75 mg, then 100, and now at the 200 mg stage. Each stage provides some relief but doesnt seem to last for long. Almost like me body is building a resistance to the topamax. Kip level has been at about non existent at the begining or change to a new level to back up to level 7 or 8 in a about week or 10 days. Of course still got the imitrex handy....snicker. I suspect we will be back in the Neuro's chair in about two weeks. The first meeting with the doctor was kinda odd. He doesnt really wanta call this clusters...but he is treating them as clusters....hmmm. Go figure. It seems because my answer to his question, Was your eyes blood shot? (had really looked up to that point) Was nose runny? (well, If you're asking did I blow my nose, the answer is no. If your asking was there presure in my sinuues, yes like a head cold or sniffling) Because those two answers were wrong, these arent clusters...(sigh) Oh and the light sensitive question. You see my pain centers around my jaw and not around my eye. Now since then I have had the pain center around my temple and eye and yes absolutely lite sensitive....you bettcha and yes my eyes get blood shot (see previous post about the beast) Damn! Doctors are finicky ::) So, anyway. I am muttling along here with pain pills, which is fine. About all they do is screw up me tummy to the point you can't eat nothin. As long the pain stays around 5 or 6 we can handle that....sorta. The depression is worse than the pain, guys. :-[ But it helps to come over and see (26 years chronic) 16 years chronic, At least I know there are survivors. I told my wife today, that I would just as soon live with with kip 8 pain twice a day every day and imitrex and know that I can control the thing than go thru the hope of different meds every two months only to fail. She doesnt understand that...to be honest...not to sure I do. But one represents consistency that you can adjust to...the other is a never ending nightmare of torture in my opinion. Make sense? |

Please accept my most sincere apology for the rantings of an idiot!!! I just got thru reading where some of you are getting hit 6 ,7, 8 times a day. The most I have every had is 3 and please God no more! I humbly beg your forgiveness as I take a huge slice of humble pie and quietly choke on it and slither back to my cave. I thank you all for being here and appreciate your overwhelming restraint in not slapping the @##% out of me. :) Anyway, enough already. Thanks bunches. BTW Pain free 24 hours and feels damn good! Now I am going to work on the next 24. ;) |
