Title: A push is all we need sometimes! Post by Elaine on Nov 17th, 2002, 3:54pm I been going through a pretty hard time so has my family. My grand daughter dieing. I been having problems with the new home. I been having problems with my doctors. I have let all the pressures and all get to me to the point I just said in my mind screw it ALL! I been ad at the world. It would be easier to lay down and forget it. For the last few weeks that is just what I been doing. When Buddy comes home or Deveny. I say OK you take over I am going to bed. What happen: I really got sick big time. Made matters worst. I said fuck it I am going to die and who gives a crap, so I stated taking my pain meds and all, figuring it will be easier. (something I said I would never do)! I have always been the pusher here at home. When someone sick, I am pushing and saying take a break and after a couple of days I say ok get up lets go shopping or out to eat or something and I push till they get up feel better. If they are depressed I divert the problem and make happy times. Thank God Buddy and Deveny learned from that. I been real down sense I found out my cancer had spread to my bones and I just said screw it. I let myself get good and depressed and sick. I went to bed Friday and got up to pee, or have a coke and move around a little, but I would go right back to bed. Well this afternoon I am in bed breathing my meds and coughing my fool head off and Buddy and Deveny bring me my cloths and say get dressed your going out. I said no I don't feel like it, you two have lost your minds I am sick, they said you don't have a choice get dressed or you can go like you are. I am pissed and these two are trying to dress me. I can dress myself get away from me I tell them. I get dressed and Deveny helps me put my wig on and my hat. I like my hat because Mike and Margi gave it to me and because it makes my wig look less fake. Buddy helps me get in the car and off we go. I am not believing it but we go to a movie. I look at him and say are you trying to kill me they say stay out of crowds, he says well your already sick, shut up we are going to see a movie. We get in and we see Santa Clause 2. He gets me a Large coke and we watch the movie. I find myself laughing and enjoying the movie and watching the kids around me. I get up when its over and Buddy and I are laughing and we head out the door to the car the wind is strong. I am trotting across the parking lot fighting the wind the wind blows my hat off, I just did catch my wig and I am chasing my hat across the park lot coughing and laughing all the time. When we get to the car we are both cold. Buddy said you tired? I told him no I am hungry and we go to eat and spend the meal talking about our new home and all the stuff we are going to do to the yard. Then we talk about how we are going to have the best Christmas ever just being together. On the way home It comes to me that Buiddy knows more about me then I give him credit, and that he just pushed me into a good mood and new outlook. I am glade he did not stop at " no I don't feel like it I am sick". I am not sure if it wasthe push or the movie. I just know when I walked out of that movie theater I felt so much better. I am no longer mad at the world and no longer feel like giving up. I am in the Christmas mood now. I am in the living mood too. If you are a supporter push someone to have a good time. If you have not seen the movie go see it!! Supporters and clusterheads !!! Happy Holidays all!!! |

Title: Re: A push is all we need sometimes! Post by Margi on Nov 17th, 2002, 4:05pm Aw, cool - so that remote ejector switch actually DOES work from this far away. We weren't sure. We've been pressing that button ALL week, but I guess it took until today to reach you. See? you can even get a kick in the ass from Canada, TS - right when you need it most. :-* Please go give Deveny and Buddy BIG hugs and pats on the backs from all of us. They're doing a good job of raising you, young lady. ;) |

Title: Re: A push is all we need sometimes! Post by David Shea on Nov 17th, 2002, 8:20pm Hi Elaine, I'm A NEWBIE TO THE BOARD, I HAVE BEEN READING YOUR POST( caps) for about 5weeks now and have found them interesting ,informative careing, and humor in just about all of them. This one however was the best and left me with A lump in my thorax and A tear in my eye. You have great mates there. I was not aware of your cancer, I am sorry. Cancer has taking some of my love ones and some have beat it back. I hope when my turn comes and with my family history surely it will, I can put up the good fight you are putting up. Best to you. David |

Title: Re: A push is all we need sometimes! Post by BuddyH on Nov 17th, 2002, 10:05pm Today was fun for me also. What ever it takes to keep you here with me I will do. Just don't leave me. My job is to take care of you fix things. God tell me how to fix this and I will do it. We are not going to give this fight up. Stop fighting this alone, lets fight it together. Its not a sin to lean on someone, its not a sin to have a baby sitter come in and watch JD. Its not a sin to say your tired. It is a sin to just give up. You say you put things in Gods hands. God said your to let us help. That is what my job is and it makes me mad when someone won't let me do my job. I want you to rest and there is a difference in resting and giving up. I want you to take your pain medication. I want you to let Linda come here and take care of JD, you will still be here. Fight this thing like you have clusters. Take your medications ON TIME. Take the help that is handed you. I am telling you this in front of all your friends, and I don't believe a one of them will disagree with me about this. David your right about her post, she is all those things, but you missed one thing, she is mule headed and thinks she has to do everything alone. I love you Johnnie PLEASE do what I ask PLEASE! |

Title: Re: A push is all we need sometimes! Post by catlind on Nov 19th, 2002, 8:17am What a wonderful tale and a terrific story of how letting any beast take over can take away our fight. Keep on fighting Lady E, you have the inner strength of Atlas himself, and with the help of your family at home and here you can fight strong and hard. Cat |
