Hello fellow clusterians! I am a long time sufferer, first time caller and happy to have discovered this site. I am trying to survive my first cycle in two years(I thought the Inderal was working, maybe I was just lucky)and am in to my third month with no relief in sight. I could share my horror stories with you but you all know them by heart. I do have a question however that I'm hoping someone can help me with; Air Travel, our upcoming vacation starts with a 14 hour flight, mostly overnight, and I have never flown during a cluster cycle. I have visions of my head actually exploding at 35,000 feet. 'Paranoid' you say? Well it wouldn't be the first time. If anyone can help me with your experience on this topic I would appreciate it. Theres nothing worse than being "up in the night", when you really are up in the night! Thank you.

hey big E...here's the drill: we're not gonna be very supportive w/out some more details about your condition/diagnosis.....give us a little background on YOU....have you taken the ClusterQuiz?...have ya read all the info >Stage Left<???...Go on ahead: bore us with yer story!!.....all whines/rants/vents are accepted (with a grain of salt.... ;D)...... but don't march in and expect these folk to *assume* yer a CHead......and do yer *footwork* for ya......

Wouldn't want to be the guy sitting behind you, besides I think exploding your head in mid flight is illegal now.

I just make sure I have enough imitrix/abortives on hand so I can abort the pain and get on with life. I have flown several times and never had a problem and I am chronic.

Welcome. My first attack could have been aboard an airplane. I can't be sure and I don't usually count it but it's possible. They didn't become a regular feature until some years later. Still, maybe not because it lasted only about a minute. I did think I was going to die of course.

Inderal was very good most of the time if I got the blood level up.

Hi bigebingham (did I get that right...) :D

I can tell you that from my personal experience, atleast for me, the attacks does not get worse because you are in a plane. I flew to Europe last June - right in the middle of my cycle - and there was no difference.. They hit me just the same. It didn't matter if I was flying over the Atlantic or waiting for a transfer flight in Newark.

My main concern was that I was not in an isle seat and after being hit twice in three hours, the person sitting next to me asked for another seat. Had he been sitting next to me at home - he would have asked for another seat as well.

I will not fly again, or schedule a trip during my estimated cycle but if I have to fly during a cycle, I will.

My attacks usually do not go over K-8 and last for about 40 - 50 minutes so I can "kind of" deal with them in public if I have to.

I sang professionally before moving to Missouri. I routinely traveled long distance including a 5 1/2 month tour of Europe. I never had a Cluster on the plane......bad thing is I don't think you can have your oxygen on the plane with you....don't know how that works. I guess the stewardess has a tank in case of emergency.
