Title: Damn I'm tired of the TSR
Post by paul_b on Nov 15th, 2002, 3:40am
Nightly, since June I have been doing the Toilet Seat Rock. For those of you who are unfamiliar with TSR, it is used by this rare breed of CH sufferer who wakes up with a mid-pain CH that lasts from 10-30 min. with eye watering, one side "ouch". This mini dance requires that you plop your bun on the seat, set your hands on your thighs near your groin and rock moving your hands towards your knees and back and forth you go until the pain passes. It is okay to utilize mind games while you rock. I tune in to the ringing in my ears (long time tintinitis suffer). It helps to focus on something other than the pain. It has taken almost 6 months to master this technique and I'm tired of it. This is the most unusal CH cycle I have experienced in the 20+ yrs I have been dealing with the Beast. Okay, I am finished venting now. Whew!  :-X

Well Paul, all I can say is that at least you haven't lost your sense of humor.  Knew that potty was good for more than I was using it for !!!!  Although the WHEW at the end of your post makes me wonder ?????

What I wonder about is............ Why the toilet?
Don't you have a softer place to sit? And what if the dog needs a drink?

:D Just kidding paul. Vent away.

Me too Paul, worse one this year in my 21 years. I do the same rock except usually in my bed and move my hands back and forth on my face. I used to have freckles but they've disappeared now! Yea as OneEye says, what was the "whew" all about? LOL! Hope you have one of those cushy seats for your rock otherwise you gotta be pulling out alot of splinters.  ;D Good luck Paul, hope your TSR stops soon and you have pfdan.  ;)

Ladies,

What's wrong with "whew"  ???

'Whew' is used interjectionally chiefly to express amazement, discomfort, or relief. :D

Maybe you think he should have used "phew" :-/

'Phew' is used to express disgust at or as if at an unpleasant odor. ;D

Hang in there, Paul and vent away....it helps sometimes :)

Hmmmm......you know...some posts make you think that you really know somone - I mean, they say when you are having trouble thinking you always return to the place you are most familiar and comfortable in an effort to not have to think.  And we all know thinking goes out the window during one of these things.

Now we know where you are the most comfortable - kind of scary really.  Why not the bed, why not the bath tub, why not the porch outside......hmmm.  Interesting.   ;D ;D ;D ;D

have been having a very hard time myself with the beast, gone back to sticking my head under stone cold water and sticking my head into the freezer. magnetize a towel with a whole in the centre to the freezer opening of the fridge. the severe cold makes the pain even worse but ones the brain " if i still have any left" warms up it gets me back in bed. cant wait for the weather to get real cold.so i can stand outside an d cool of the whole body. do what you got to to keep it liveable.
