My name is Todd, age: 28, suffer of CH's for about 5 years. Have been to about 5 different doctors and I have finally found one that I believe is on the right track. I am from Cockeysville, MD. I race Downhill Mountain Bikes, and love anything that is a challange.. My ch's are come and go, always in the fall.. ( about the time we change the clocks on the east coast and always in the spring too. My ch's have been in remission for 6 months and i thought the beast was beaten,.. Well he came back to visit this week.,. So back to the Dr we go..

I have been reading some of the post and have say that it is nice to see a place where people understand what I feel and the pain and frustrations that Liz my soon to be wife ( march 14) has endured.. This beast that turns a 6 1, downihll racing ( 50 mph crashes and get up to laugh about it ) person into a sobbing crying mess. I never new that were we so many people that fight the beast. I was always told.. Oh they are very rare.. that is bs. Since I ws diagnosed I have met more people that with are sufferers or know someone that is..

Anyway I look forward to learning more though your experiences and hopefully i will have my fair share to add as well..

Welcome aboard. You're right, we do understand and have lots of good and goofy advice.

Your doctor is right. They are a bit rare but not rare enough.

Welcome and glad you found this place. There is a ton of great info here as I'm sure you'll see. Sorry to hear your getting hit again. Maybe you can tell us alittle about how you cope..meds you may use,etc.

Welcome to the MB. Sorry you have become one of our fellow sufferers. Lots of valuable information and support available on this site. Gets a little sharp here from time to time, don't let it get to you.
Let us know how you're doing. Nice to read you have a partner to be that know the beast and is willing to take that next step with you.

Hi Todd, and welcome. Sorry you have a reason to find us, but glad you did.

I find it interesting that you mention here that you particiate in an adrenaline-producing sport. I'm doing some research into adrenaline right now and I'm wondering if you've ever gotten hit while you're racing? Or have you ever actually tried to abort an attack by exerting yourself by going into a race? I'm sure it's the LAST thing you feel like doing when you're getting hit, but I'm just wondering if there is a connection with adrenaline surges -- if they have any abortive properties.

Todd - welcome, but sorry you felt compelled to seek us out. You say you like challenges....well, you got one if you have CHs. I hope you've clicked thru the site and the OUCH site. Join OUCH (membership is free) and help us fight for a cure for this damn horrid condition. With enough members, our voice gets louder and we get more attention. Maybe we'll get something done before you kill yourself on one of those mountains. ;D

Welcome to the board! Sorry that the beast has driven an industrial sized lightning rod through your cranium, and mounted ya on the tallest tower he could find to see how many bolts you can catch. Good luck!
