Hey there all, It has been about two years since I posted, but I just wanted to let you know about a possible relief that I encountered. I want to preface this by saying that I am in NO way trying to rub anyones nose in this, but just letting you know that this may be an unusual option. Last year I had PRK done on my right eye & stopped wearing contacts. Just prior to that surgery is when I had my last episode. I have not had one since. I got LASIK done on my left eye last month & I am still free from the clusters. I wouldnt go more than a month w/out an episode. If any of you wear contacts and have worn them for years, as I did, this may help. It may not, but you did it, you would at least not need contacts. If you want me to give you more information about it, flip me an email & I will respond as quickly as possible. I am not a doctor nor do I have any formal extensive medical training, but what I do know is that I seem to be free from the 400+ a year episodes. my email is j.r.drake@ponl.com Take care & good luck all

If Lasik took your HA's away you did not have CH. Or your in remission.

I've had Lasik surgery on both eyes.....had clusters before the surgery, and had clusters after surgery..

But... HEY! Thanks for playing! Show them what they get for playing, Jonny! ;D

...uh, well then......I also had Lasik surgery (both eyes) and can see the previous post VERY WELL, thankyou.....(I may be seeing double tho?)

....but I also had CH's before and after the surgery, altho they did skip me over the year I had the surgery.....FWIW

Had cataract surgury in the cluster eye with no effect either way. PJB

My CH began long before I needed glasses and disappeared before I needed glasses.

There are such things as coincidence and it's human nature to try to atttribute these things as something they are not. Nevertheless, I'm very happy for you and stay PF for another 150 years.

Just to let those who say I didnt have them know, I definitely did. 2-6 a day, everyday for 5-6weeks at a time. I am a non smoker, 30, single w/no kids that I know of, so the stress level is low. Just thought that I would put in my 2 cents and hope that it could help someone. But dont worry, I stress everyday wondering if I am going to get them back.

Now that they tell me if I keep it up (pun intended) I'll go blind.

Where did you get that surgery, I'd hate to break my routine.

When I first started getting Clusters, (Before I knew what they were) I always thought there was a problem with my contacts. Now, these are the days where all they had were Hard Contact Lenses. But i aslo underwent vision correction and quess what? I had a 2 month severe cycle afterwards.

SoI personally think it is just a coincidence with your Pain-Free time. Anyway enjoy it, while it lasts...

I'm glad the surgery worked to free you from pain, but I tend to agree with jonny....either you are in remission or didn't have CH's.

CH is connected with the trigeminal nerve and correct me if I'm wrong, but the eye surgery doesn't touch the actual nerve behind the eye, it just works on the eyeball itself.

Not saying it didn't work for you, glad you are pain free, but I tend to agree that you are more likely in remission.

Cat (mebbe I shouldn't use that name....seeing the picture posted as a prize....cause you definitely would be dissapointed LOL)

We now know that you are either male or extremely out of touch with reality.

If lasik was the cure I'd do it without hesitation. For that matter if stripping naked, shoving a traffic cone up my ass :o and running through the mall screaming "Look at me, I'm a space shuttle", would do the trick I'd do that also. ;D. Hey -- something to do this weekend.

Hope that's okay with you. Jayr -- it sounds like you had clusters based on what you described, but put me in the group that doubts that the Lasik caused them to stop.

Hope they never come back for you.

Nice one jonny. 4 boobs would be too confusing for me. I have always thought that there should be one on the back so we would have something to fiddle with when dancing. ;D

Well needless to say, I almost fell out from laughing, but I am a male... at least I think thats what that thing down there means. Regarding the eye and the trigeminal nerve. It does have something to do with the eye. Doesnt that nerve interact with the optic nerve? and when the eye does not get enough oxygen then the blood vessels dialate to try and get more oxygen. So you are constantly straining. (If I am incorrect, I am sure someone will happily correct me.) But then again, thats just my professional medical opinion... and I should know I took a biology class about 10 years ago

40 yrs old.......27 yrs chronic CH.......never wore glasses and never strained.
