Title: Road side assistance - CH related Post by echo on Nov 8th, 2002, 12:28pm Last night on the way home from work the beast decided to clamp on quickly, after shadows for most of the day. Heading down the freeway, setting sun in my eyes I went from K? - K10 in what seemed like a heart beat. Could not see a friggen thing, hurt so damn bad there was now way to concentrate on driving. I managed to get to the shoulder and stopped. Within minutes a flatbed tow truck pulled in behind me. Stayed for a few moments, passed me, pulled in front, backed up and raised the bed. I was thinking -- WTF. The driver came to the door and asked - "Broke down?", i just shook my head no, then suprisingly he asked "Cluster?". I nodded. Then he said "Go get in the cab of my truck - I'm taking you home". Found out via a note he left in my car that his late father had suffered CH for years. And he had noticed the Clusterheadache.com bumpersticker when he arrived on the scene. He remembered what his dad had gone through and wanted to help me out. I have no idea who he was, or what company he was with. All I remember is he looked like he graduated highschool last year. Maybe I was close the age his dad may have been. The topper -- No charge! Thanks for the sticker jonny |

Title: Re: Road side assistance - CH related Post by Charlie on Nov 8th, 2002, 7:44pm Terrific story Echo. CH supporters never die. They don't even fade away. Somewhere here is my sticker with an intact backing because I don't have a car. It's lost in the mess since I rearranged the place. I'll try to find it but it will take time. Charlie |

See...there's hope for humanity and society yet!!! My bumper sticker is still intact with the backing because I haven't convinced my hubby to let me drive the new Jetta and him drive my minivan LOL Maybe I'll just stick it to my forehead then the docs won't have to ask so many questions when I see them LOL Jonny is awesome for having done as much as he's done, and I'm in for $$$ to donate to get more done for the new and old members who don't yet have them. Title: Re: Road side assistance - CH related Post by firebrix on Nov 9th, 2002, 11:11am Good story. Thanx for sharing some good news. Just shows how something like a sticker can actually raise awareness, and save the day occasionally. So glad someone helped you Echo! Restores the faith. ;D I will donate money so Jonny can do them again if someone will tell me how to. Might even get some printed up down here if that's ok with Jonny. It might be cheaper. We did some stickers for a river we were trying to clean up and were stunned at how fast they went and how effective they were in amping awareness. The river is almost clean now. :D Have a gr8 weekend PFDAN to you all firebrix |
