Title: Re: Hypothalamus Post by Bob P on Nov 6th, 2002, 10:41am Interesting program on NOVA last night. The gist of it was about boys born with small genitals and how they would do sex change operations on them and raise them as girls, assuming their environment would lead them to become successful women. After years fo doing this, they found that it wasn't working. The sex changed girls wanted to be boys. They then found a difference in the male and female hypothalamus (the male having an enlarged section in it). So just changing the genitalia and environment didn't change their brain and they were still male. This of course explains why women don't get clusters and why the men who do get clusters have big tools (just ask the Italians). |
