Title: weirdest treatment option Post by talitha on Nov 1st, 2002, 6:50pm Okay, what's the very weirdest treatment you have tried? I saw a chiropractor who tried to adjust my teeth :o a massage therapist/shaman who said he saw a black dog spirit rise out of my head ::) and an AF doctor who gave me seconals :P. Need i say that none of the above did anything except mess with my serenity. |

Title: Re: weirdest treatment option Post by Jabeen on Nov 2nd, 2002, 10:49am Can't compete with the bleu cheese and vinegar-but I had the first 2 doctors give me eye drops and sleeping pills! While I knew in my mind these were not going to work-I did it to humor them so I could move on. Eventually they sent me to a good neurologist who knew immediately what I had. It took a while from there-but she saved me. ??? ??? ??? |

Title: Re: weirdest treatment option Post by talitha on Nov 7th, 2002, 11:43am Back 1994 My massage therapist told me I should see a "medicine man" from some tribe ???please note that I am not native american...anyway, said Medicine man is also a psychologist who has me take the MMPI (700 questions designed to screw up your mind) , charged me $75 and then suggests that I try holotropic breathwork. For those who have never heard of this process, it involves rapid deep breathing while blindfolded and listening to very loud drumming. It is supposed to give access to the "cosmic unconscious". Anyway, its alot of new age BS but i was willing to go for it. Medicine Man said that it could reveal the source of the beast. So a group of 8 women (odd that there were only women there) met at the MMs retreat. Okay, I have to digress for a minute, cause you guys don't know much about me...many moons ago, I was a hippie, featured in High Times for grafting Marijuana and corn ::)have since gone clean and sober by the grace of God. just thought you should know that since it relates to this story. The guy who developed holotropic breathwork did so because the government wouldn't let him do anymore experiments with LSD. So this is suppossed to be a trip. It was. Didn't get rid of headaches but the MM said I had "big medicine" and should use my powers for good :o ::) If I have such big medicine why can't I find a cure for these ###headaches? |
||
Title: Re: weirdest treatment option Post by BobG on Nov 7th, 2002, 12:02pm LMAO :D grafting Marijuana and corn? Would that be pot-on-the-cob? MaryJane-on-the-maise? up-date to this message: see a medicine man from some tribe try holotropic breathwork give access to the cosmic unconscious These are going on my list above. |
