Title: Does the beast mess with you?
Post by suzy617 on Oct 28th, 2002, 5:06pm
I just finished my 6 week cycle, same as every year. Been pf for 8 nights and just as I was reading the posts before, about an hour ago, this friggin thing came back like a wild man attacking me with an ax in my eye. Could this possibly be just one last visit just to fuck my head up? I've gone off all my meds thinking it was over, but I popped an imitrex and within 45 minutes started going away. I cant recall this happening to me after so long coming back. Does this happen to anyone else? Should I prepare myself for another battle?  :'(

suzy, there ain't no ryme or reason with the beast, i remember someone here saying, the only thing predictable about the beast is his unpredictability. hang in there, glad to hear your gettin' some PF time.                                                                                                                                                                                                              ..........2late

David, I only take the tablets but alot of the people here take the injections, they work faster. I take the pill the minute i feel it coming on and it usually works within 30 minutes or so but thats still a long time to deal with it.

Suzy, I thought many times that my cycle was over when I had a PF week. The last gap was 2 weeks of light shadows then I got hit at random times once a day for 8 days and it was gone.                         PJB

Yup, the beast does mess with you.  Consistant, reliable, excruciating pain for 87 days straight ... then consistant shadows, sporadic attachs, some nights pain free, others not so lucky ...for the next 30 days and the beast moves on, or has he ????  Been headache free for 8 days and counting ... minimal shadows.  I'm waiting with bated breath !!!!

The thing seems to use us as lab rats.

Mine would taper in frequency but never in intensity. After a week or so.......poof! Life was sweet again and then it was time to get back to scaring children and fleecing old ladies.

Ah, youth.

  The beast messes with everyone.

Just today I was PF for 4 hours and was convinced
  I'd gone episodic.

Linda, PF for 4 hrs?  I give you and all the others like you lots of credit handling that.  I usually only get one CH a night and that alone freaks me out. Well I slept pf last night so I hope its true that the beast just came back that once in 8 days to mess with me, maybe he's moved on. Thanks again for all the support here, its made my suffering a little more bearable knowing I'm not the only person wanting to rip my head off.

"Should I prepare myself for another battle?"

Hell yeah!
Sorry to hear about the all of the cranial crunching going on Suzy but the rest of the replys here said a mouthfull.
Expect a piano to fall on you at any time. Stock your "War Chest" between rounds and always be ready for the next mortar shell to the eye. Sounds to me like there is a pretty bad cycle going on for quite a few of us the end of this year, worse than usual. Mine is.
Bummer,
Mark
