There have been a lot of people on CH.com and the U.K. board, who have been sent an email virus with the senders email addy being: Nfiltz@excite.com

MY email addy is Mfiltz@excite.com NOT "N". I do not know where this is coming from, and am getting quite pissed because it seems people are thinking it's coming from my email addy. >:(

Just thought ya'll should know...

P.S. If it was in my control to fix whatever is wrong, you can bet I would, but I'm at a loss here as to what to do. I cannot fix anything that is not coming from my email addys. :-/

hey, here's a little twist,
Mine came from nfiltz@highstream.net
And it was interesting cause the e-mail said, stopped by your server (my server stops NOTHING), LOL

I was so excited to get my copy as Elaine and Bama had already gotten one, and not me! I felt so left out! :)

I knew it wasn't from you, one of those things that uses your e-mail, etc.
Reguardless, I updated my scanners.
Btw...my e-mail was NOT a virus, just warned of one.

Hey I got that too... and rule of thumb (REE) dont blame anyone if you get a virus on your puter... It is usually No ones fault except the author of the virus... and just like a people virus... life is just one big gamble...keep your stuff updated and you wont get one... any ole how... that virus thing said the same thing to me... and my server (ditto michelle) doesnt stop anything either... and nothing was in quarantine when i checked too... NO ONE BLAME ANYONE... WE ALL CLICK AND IF YOU CLICK YOU MIGHT GET A VIRUS... right?!?!?! love ya ree

I'm running a scan right now, and I got people calling me saying I'm sending them viruses. ohforpetesake, what a friggin nightmare!!! I'll be glad when this crap is cleaned up! I'm so sorry if it's been my puter doing all this! (which it probably is :-[) I hate my puter right now>:(

i got the same email that Mast did...and now my puter is asking weird..or maybe i am imaging it...i am good at that LOL...anyway, my virus scan says there is no virus but it said that once when i did have one...did anyone get a virus from that email or not? BTW, Mel, i know you did not send it , sis...that is ridiculous for anyone to think that...smiles, nancyc

Viruses make up the sent from using the senders computer address book. If your address is in anouther computer then it can send a e-mail in your e-mail address. You can trace the real computer sending the virus using the IP address. PJB

Despite the fact there is your (near) address, Melissa, you're not the sender.

I've also heard of some viruses that use an E-mail on the address book, and slightly change the name.

In any case, you're not the sender.... at least you're the Tiger.... :-* :-* :-*

I guess you might as well add me to the list also and even my work computer got it. Both computers stopped it.Thank God :D

And Melissa even if it did come from your puter I still Love yeah.

If it is still the Klez virus going around (or some variation) it also will take email addresses off of the internet while you are on (at least that is what I read when this first started showing up)

And ditto to what Ree said about not blaming anyone! I had never had a virus before and was new to the board and inadvertently (and in ignorance) offended quite a few folk and got royally put in my place! LOL

Now I know better! So be careful when pointing fingers!
