Wish I was sleeping but I was busy pacing the floors at that time. I just started the imitrex tabs last week, episodes seem to be getting shorter, I'm wondering if its just the cycle or that the meds are doing that. Can't wait for this to end and be able to sleep again...

A trick to the trex tabs...
I only get 9 tabs per month pluse my 4 shots of trex so I asked my doctor to give me 100mg tabs, Then when I got them filled I asked that they all be in 50mg str, Then I cut each one into 3 and take 1 every 4 hours and so far ( 3 days ) not one full out CH yet. And this saves my shots for if and when I get a real bad one.

Thanks for the info Rod, but I thought the tabs dont help if you take them before the HA occurs, they say to take them as soon as you feel it coming on. Since Ive been getting them around an hour after going to sleep, I wonder if I took it before if it would help. I didnt want to waste a pill to find out but maybe I will now.

Well if you take them when you fill the CH coming on it takes like 30 to 45 mins for them to work, But the way I do it makes them last longer, The only thing I have run into is that I stay in a shadow, But I'll take the shadow over a CH anytime.
At night I take 2/3 of a tab and one sleeping pill and if lucky I get almost 3 hours sleep before I wake up with a CH, But even then its not that bad and if I get out of bed soon as I wake and go for the ice I can be back to a shadow in less then 10 mins, I take another 1/3 of a tab and then go on line happy that I got 3 hours sleep.
But thats just me.

Rod, just curious.

How long have you been battling CH. Sounds to me as if you've done your homework with treatment options.

Since I was 21, Now 39 and this is by far the worst year I've ever had.

Another Trex suggestion: Those tabs DO take a long time to work, but if you crush them in a small amount of hot water and drink it (tastes terrible) it goes to work a LOT faster. Linda Howell

Starting today I am going to go from cutting my tabs into 1/3s to 1/4s and see if they still work, Let you know in a day or 2.
