im new here too. Ive read the info on the boards but I never interacted before. I think maybe I need a little support from someone who knows what I go through.Last group of headaches was so bad. My neuro made me worse by pushing Topamax on me, saying he didnt understand why it wasnt working and upping the dose. I think it made me worse. Ive never had such long lasting pain before. 7-8 hour headaches, that never went away completly. I said my goodbyes to my children, and husband and swallowed about 10 percocets that my husband had for his back , I ran in and made myself throw them up, and wound up in the hospital for three days after I told my neuro what happened. I have never sunk so low. all I could think about was killing myself, I am telling all clusterheads to watch out for Topamax, I think that drug made my head feel worse and it made me even more depressed than I normally am when I am having headaches. Now I am on a light steroid, and light dose of Lithium. I dont care about the side affects. I feel better for the time being, but I feeel they are not far away. "

Chris, I wanted to start this as it's own thread so you would get more folks reading it and seeing you here. I don't want to see you get lost in the shuffle.

Topomax has depression as a side effect, so that may have definitely made things worse. I'm sorry to see that the beast has brought you so far down. I don't think there's many here who haven't thought of the quick way out.

Hang around and speak out, we are all here to help you out. Don't sit back quietly when you need support, this board and these people are here to make sure you don't fall that low, so keep us in mind and remember we're a family that cares about each other. We are here for you.

Chris - there is lots of help here, both informational and emotional. There is a crisis intervention team over on the OUCH site, but beyond that, you have found a place where others have been through and are going through exactly what you are. We understand because we've been there.
Topomax actually works for some (read up on it on the medications board) and has horrible side effects for others like you. There is a set of meds that is right for you, you need to work with your doc to find it.
