Title: Mildred has malfuctioned Post by don on Sep 24th, 2002, 9:30pm For those who dont know Mildred. She is a little Beagle who almost died a few months back. The folks on this board pulled together and saved her life. A softball tumor was removed from her spleen. Millie has decomped and has all the same symptoms as befor the last tumor. She has a vet appointment tomorrow morning. Perhaps her last. I only post this because she truly became everyones little dog here. Because of the folks here she was given another chance to run in the woods and slurp ice cream for a little while longer. Title: Re: Mildred has malfuctioned Post by Ted on Sep 24th, 2002, 9:38pm Don, this is very sad. I'll be pulling for Millie and pray for the best. She did have more time to enjoy life and running and playing. Not just because of the donations but because you allowed yourself to accept the help because of your love for Millie. You're a good father to your dog and have been bringing her happiness all these years. She could have done worse than you. Much worse. If Millie doesn't make it this time my thoughts will be with you. |

Title: Re: Mildred has malfuctioned Post by NancyMcFree on Sep 24th, 2002, 10:06pm LOL Ree ... do not give that dog a steak dinner. While it might make us feel better that is not the best thing for him/her. Consult you vet on that one !!!! If she/he is not eating well use the old rice trick. Rice with either hamburger or chicken is quite good for a dog under the weather. No gravy/no fat. Glad you posted about your pooch .... I didn't mean for people not to post ... just keep sailpappy's to the top ... he at this point can't ask for help ..... so someone has to look out for him. Sorry if it sounded like I was cutting eveyone else out. |

Title: Re: Mildred has malfuctioned Post by ChristineL on Sep 25th, 2002, 8:36am Don, My thoughts and prayers are with you for Mildred. Our animals give us unconditional love and it is always so hard to let them go. If it is her time then remember she is going to a far better place. She can run in the fields and chase balls without any pain. She can play with all her other friends and when it is time she will be waiting for you, with her tail wagging, at the Rainbow Bridge.
